Five years ago, Mike gave us a bid which we accepted and then never heard back from him. We were ghosted without explanation. Would not recommend!

Hi Janet,
We reviewed our records, and it appears we did meet briefly to discuss your potential project in 2020, however no proposal or contracts were issued or accepted.
If there may be some confusion, perhaps the wrong company, or if you’d like us to look into the situation further, please feel free to contact our office directly, and we’d be happy to discuss it.
Thank you,
Mike Daniel Ability Remodeling
Ability Remodeling did an incredible job remodeling our kitchen, dining room and great room. They did it for the prior owner, but their remodel was the primary reason we bought our home. The quality and craftsmanship are second to none and the thoughtfulness of the design and layout are amazing. We will definitely use them for any additional remodeling projects in the future.

Thank you so much for the kind words! We're thrilled to hear that the remodel played such a big role in your decision to buy the home — that means a lot to us. We take great pride in delivering quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design, and it’s incredibly rewarding to know the work is still making a positive impression. We’d be honored to work with you on any future remodeling projects — welcome home!
We had a fantastic experience with Ability Remodeling! Mike, Phil, Ritch, and the team did an amazing job on the addition to our home. It's beautiful, functional, and looks like a natural part of the original design of the home. No one can tell it's an addition! Communication was clear and consistent throughout the course of the project. Since we were living and working in the house during the build, Ability was always respectful of our needs, our time and personal space. Deadlines were met. Expectations were exceeded. It was actually bittersweet when the project was completed, as we enjoyed having them around.

Thank you so much for the kind words! We truly enjoyed working with you on your home addition, and hearing that it blends so seamlessly with the original design is the highest compliment we could hope for. It was important to us that the process felt smooth and respectful — especially with you living and working in the home during construction — so we're really glad to hear that came through.
It was bittersweet for us too when the project wrapped up! Particularly for Ritch, who will really miss his visits with Tommy!!
We’re grateful for the trust you placed in us and would love to work together again down the road.

From the initial meeting to the close of the project Ability Remodeling's skill, care and professionalism was outstanding. I had two bathrooms and a kitchen remodeled, and they guided me through the design work knowledgeably (and patiently). Throughout the work was well-managed, and I was regularly informed at every stage. My house is challenging (12-sided!), and Ability more than met each and every challenge. The on site carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, tilers--etc! were all courteous, listened with respect, and cared about every detail. The results are beautiful: my home is transformed! Ability Remodeling has my highest recommendation.

Hi Sue and Tom,
Apologies for the late reply (how did I miss it?), but we’re truly grateful for your kind words. Your whole-house remodel in Hassayampa was such a meaningful project for our team. It was a pleasure working with you both, and the way you welcomed us into your home made the experience even more special.
We’re so glad you’re happy with the results — and we’d be honored to work with you again anytime. Thank you for your trust and for making us feel like part of the family.

Quality from the first phone call to the last day of the project. Working with the team at Ability was fantastic. Phil brought a measure rd approach to getting the job done and Mike made sure every step of the process was taken care of. All around this team is top notch.

Wow - Thanks Heath. We do love what we do here at Ability!
I am writing this negative review because I spent $34,000 + on a remodel of my guest bath. I always like to shop local and so I choose Ability Remodeling of Prescott, Arizona. The project started in August of 2021 and was completed June of 2022. I understand the delays, the problem is in not only the lack of honest communication, but the out right lying by Phil Stephens. I do not want any other individual to have to go through this process. For the amount of money I spent, I expected more honesty and consideration. Here are a few of the problems I ran into.
• Lied about ordering of cabinet. Told by email from Ability that the cabinet was approved, ordered and verified in early October 2021. Upon calling cabinet company I was told that the cabinet was not ordered until early January 2022. I received the cabinet in early June 2022.
• Had a dry waller from the company come and he made a terrible mess. I complained and Phil Stephens, a co-owner, did not appoligize and did nothing but defend the dry waller. Another employee of Ability came over to clean up the mess on his own time.
• I wanted gold trim on my shower door, Phil told me the company had that and it would not be a problem. Upon talking to the company, I learned that they don’t carry gold for my shower door.
These may seem trivial, but lying to a customer seems like a bad business practice.
Tooey,
Thank you for your review; we recognize the vulnerability and work that goes into giving a company a review, especially when your experience was negative.
As you shared in your review, Ability fell flat of what we strive for and for this, we do apologize. Our customers are the heart of our business, and we understand you’re feeling of disappointment regarding the cabinets, drywall, and gold trim on your shower.
For clarity for the readers of this review. Your contract was signed in Aug 2021 and the project started on site the last week of January 2022. The project lasted 7 weeks where everything was completed except for the vanity. We provided a temporary vanity to allow the use of the bathroom until the new vanity arrived, was installed and all project punch list was completed in June 2022.
Regarding the Cabinets, I take full responsibility and apologize for the lack of accurate communication around your vanity. In working with new suppliers (especially in these post Covid times), it’s hard to get all the kinks worked out on ordering, shipping, minimums, etc. I know you would have been understanding if I had just shared with you what I was actually struggling with. I should have shared with you all the options so that we could make the decisions together. Instead, I did it myself, didn’t communicate what I did and then let you get upset over the amount of time it took to receive your new vanity cabinet. Once again, thank you for calling me out on this and I promise that I will take this opportunity to improve my communication skills.
Regarding the Drywall, while I don’t remember the specific words of the conversation, nevertheless, if I did not apologize satisfactorily in the moment, please accept my apology now. Please know that I took the discovery of the mess seriously and I immediately made sure we resolved it. The supervisor of your remodel was sent over the same day (on paid time) to clean up the mess. Also, we contacted the subcontractor to inform him that Ability has cleanliness standards that were not abided to and that we were not pleased with his disrespect of your home.
Regarding the Glass Shower Enclosure, you did get the gold trim on your shower doors like you wanted. I’m not quite sure what the issue is with this as you were very happy with the final selection when it was made and after it was installed. We were not able to get what you wanted from Bennett Glass, as we usually do, so we went with another supplier to get you what you wanted. Again, I apologize for your experience not being exceptional.
As you mentioned, these complaints may seem trivial, and regardless of the situation, you ended up feeling less than completely satisfied. Please accept our apologies and know that Ability takes these types of situations very seriously, learn from them and make the necessary changes to keep from making the same mistakes ever again.
Finally, thank you again for taking the time to share a review with us.
