Theres so much positive upside with this facility from the leadership to ultimately the care that translates to the patient’s that they serve. We have been providing patient care support alongside this team and we’ve seen how individulized and patient-centered they are as an organization, They hold regular care conferences with the families which is what you would like in a Memory care setting,They listen with empathy and they implement the care with real purpose! We have recommended them to a few of our patients and our families report nothing but positive feedback from their experience here.

Thank you so much, JR! It means a lot to hear this from someone who works alongside our team. We are grateful for your trust and for the families you have introduced to our community. Knowing that they have had positive experiences is the best feedback we could receive. Thank you for being such a caring partner and for taking the time to share these kind words!
I would absolutely NOT recommend Rolling Hills Active Care based on our experience.
The most concerning part of our experience was the assessment itself. The person conducting the assessment appeared to have a very limited understanding of the larger picture surrounding our family member’s condition, history, baseline behavior, and actual care needs. In our opinion, the assessment failed to accurately evaluate the person as a whole.
An assessment involving an elderly and medically vulnerable individual should never be based on a narrow snapshot in time. It should take into account medical history, normal baseline behavior, medications, recent hospitalization or illness, family input, cognitive status, physical limitations, and any temporary factors that may affect how the person presents that day. We did not feel that level of care, judgment, or understanding was demonstrated.
As a result, we believe our family member was completely misjudged during the assessment. The assessor seemed focused on what was immediately in front of them rather than understanding the broader clinical and personal circumstances. That is extremely troubling when the outcome of an assessment can directly affect placement, care decisions, and quality of life.
The communication, professionalism, and follow-through surrounding the process were also extremely disappointing. Instead of feeling that our concerns were carefully considered, we were left feeling frustrated and concerned that critical context was either overlooked or not understood.
Families place an enormous amount of trust in organizations like this. That trust should be earned through thorough assessments, careful listening, professional judgment, transparency, and genuine concern for the individual. Our experience did not meet that standard.
Based on what we experienced, I would strongly encourage other families to ask detailed questions, insist that the full medical and behavioral history be considered, document everything, and carefully evaluate other options before relying on an assessment from Rolling Hills Active Care.
When the care and dignity of a vulnerable family member are involved, a superficial or incomplete assessment is simply unacceptable.
One star, the assessor = big fat zero
This is a Beautiful and well-thought-out community and I very much enjoyed touring it. The staff all are very professional, happy, and helpful. I had the pleasure of conversing with Bee-Bee who was very upbeat and joyful. I got the opportunity to get a tour from Sophia, who is very positive, enthusiastic, professional, and loves what she does. Walking around the community, I saw lots of smiling and lots of residents enjoying their social time. I would highly recommend ActivCare for anyone who is looking for am awesome community for their loved one.

Thanks for your wonderful review and recommendation, Voltaire. We are delighted you enjoyed touring our community and seeing the smiling residents that call ActivCare Rolling Hills Ranch home. We will share your kind words with Bee-Bee and Sophia and the entire team. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
As the daughter of a recent resident, I cannot say enough wonderful things about ActivCare at Rolling Hills Ranch in Eastlake. My mom spent approximately three months at ActivCare after suffering a stroke, during an incredibly difficult and uncertain time for our family. From the moment she arrived, she was treated with nothing but love, respect, compassion, and exceptional care.
ActivCare is an outstanding facility, with a staff who cares deeply about their residents and their well-being. The staff took the time to understand my mom as an individual; her personality, her needs, what made her comfortable, and the level of support she needed at that particular point in her recovery. They were consistently professional, loving, patient, attentive, and kind. I always felt that they were looking out for her best interests and were on top of her needs.
I was very close to my mom's care throughout her time at ActivCare and visited frequently. The team was always incredibly welcoming and considerate toward me as well. They encouraged me to spend as much time with my mom as I wanted, to take her outside, and simply to be with her. Just as importantly, they supported me as her daughter as I navigated some very difficult decisions about her care. Having a team I could trust during that period gave me tremendous peace of mind.
There are so many wonderful people who deserve recognition. Bee Bee was incredibly special to my mom and our family, and I am so grateful for the love and care she showed her. Sofia was also wonderful, as were the nursing staff, including Nika, Christina and Karen. And Kim and Bianca and others at the front desk always greeted us with such warmth and kindness. Together, they helped make my mom's experience feel less like being in a facility and much more like being in a home at a time when she couldn't be in her own.
I also appreciated the thoughtful touches ActivCare provided to help residents maintain a sense of normalcy and dignity. Even things such as having salon services available for hair and nails made a difference. It gave my mom opportunities to feel cared for, look good, and feel good about herself during her stay.
My mom has since moved out of ActivCare, but for a very positive reason: she has progressed to the point that she no longer requires memory care and has transitioned to an assisted living community that better matches her current needs. Her move in no way diminishes how grateful I am for the care she received at ActivCare. In fact, ActivCare was exactly what she needed during that chapter of her recovery, and I will always be thankful that she was surrounded by people who cared for her so genuinely when she needed it most.
When you are making care decisions for a parent, you are entrusting other people with someone you love deeply. I never took that responsibility lightly. At ActivCare, I felt that my mom was known, valued, respected, protected, and cared for as a person, not simply as a patient/resident.
To the entire ActivCare Rolling Hills team: thank you for loving and caring for my mom during a very difficult time in our lives, and for treating my mom and my entire family (who visited often), with such kindness and compassion. I will always be grateful for what you did for her and for our family.
I would wholeheartedly recommend ActivCare Rolling Hills to families looking for a compassionate, professional, and truly caring memory care community for someone they love.

Thank you, Carrie, for your thoughtful review and for trusting ActivCare Rolling Hills Ranch with your mother’s care. We are grateful to hear that she felt close to our team and appreciated their love and support. Our team will be delighted to hear your kind words, and we will be sure to share them.
Please keep in touch. We are cheering your mother on and wish her continued happiness and success in this next chapter.
I placed my brother at ActivCare Rolling Hills when I could no longer care for him. I looked at other places that were very nice, but several things stood out here. For one, Ken was a very active person who liked to walk and be outside. There is a huge city park right next door and ActivCare had daily walks and picnics over there. Everyone enjoyed nature and being outside, and that mitigates the feelings of being dependent or locked up. The staff worked to give him as much free reign to exercise as possible without letting him loose to wander away.
Some facilities had nice amenities, but those were only available to residents who were completely cognizant. Those with dementia could rarely if ever access them. This facility, inside and outside, is completely open to all residents.
Some facilities I visited seemed to 'babysit' the residents such as offering a movie for the afternoon. ActivCare has one interesting activity after another all day long with visiting outside singers and entertainment, fun parties, games, discussions and fun classes. Ken was constantly sought out to come join in if he was in his room, and he usually did. That kept him busy, entertained, social, and involved.
I cannot say enough kind words about the staff. Each one was kind, caring, endlessly patient, and always responsive to residents' needs, wants, and concerns. When Ken's health failed, they shed tears of compassion with us. He really got the best care possible and I am forever grateful, particularly to management who set the tone, attitude, and standards that were exemplified in every employee in every position. When Ken passed on, they were as helpful to our family as possible and gave us all the time we needed to deal with belongings and grief. They were always communicative and kept us apprised of any concerns or changes in health. I cannot recommend or thank them enough.

Robert, thank you for sharing Ken’s story and for trusting us with his care. Your words beautifully reflect what we strive for every day at ActivCare Rolling Hills.
We believe that life with dementia should still be active, engaging, and connected to the world around us. We’re so glad Ken was able to enjoy the outdoors, stay involved in meaningful activities, and experience the freedom to move safely—those are all intentional parts of our approach.
It also means so much to hear your kind words about our team. Providing compassionate, personalized care—and supporting families through every stage—is truly at the heart of what we do.
We’re honored to have been part of Ken’s journey and grateful your family chose us. Thank you again for your heartfelt recommendation.
Volunteering at ActivCare has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. The atmosphere is full of warmth, compassion, and genuine care. Not only are each of the residents’ needs met, but they are also actively engaged with card games, trivia, and physical activities.
Spending time with the residents was incredibly rewarding. Whether I was helping with activities, sharing a conversation, or just being there, I felt like I was truly making a difference. It was amazing to see how even small moments of connection could brighten a resident’s day. Even if some residents weren’t always fully aware of what was going on, it was important to me to make sure they felt comfortable and cared for.
This experience not only made me feel grateful to serve in my local community, but it also reminded me of the importance of patience, empathy, and presence. I will always remember the moments I spent going on walks, reading Bible verses, and listening to the life experiences residents shared with me. I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to be part of something truly impactful.

A consultant advised me to consider Active Care for two primary reasons - they only took memory care patients and they had a good reputation for dealing with aggressive behavior. Carol (my 100 lb 88 year old arthritic wife of 67 years ) was asked to leave her current facility because they could not deal with her hitting, kicking, and biting their caretakers during daily care tasks - her behavior was mostly because she just did not like people taking her clothes off.
A visit to Active Care Rolling Hills was impressive (high caregiver to patient ratio, many planned patient activities, frequent bed checks ... I could go on ). Director Bee Bee Smith was confident they could handle Carol's behavior. Carol moved in. It only took a few weeks for them to resolve Carol's aggression - mostly through caring and patience. Carol gets along with all her caretakers and they all show affection for her.
Active Care is staffed with people who really do care - kudos to management, recruitment, training, and technique. In my many visits to Carol I am overwhelmed with observations of the caretakers awareness and rapid response to their patients needs - including little things like providing a warm blanket, helping to eat, helping to play games and participate in group activities, and providing welcomed hugs and kisses. At each visit the first caretaker I see shows me where Carol is and advises me of any supply needs and any pains or medical issues they are tending to.
The facility is well named. Everyone is very active and very caring. I truly love them all. Carol has been at Active Care for 5 months now, and I have yet to see or experience anything that one could describe negatively. We made the right choice. They are definitely a 5 star operation
