Customers frequently praise Agate Asphalt for professional crews, clear communication, and high-quality driveway and parking lot installations. Common themes include punctual scheduling, thorough site preparation, and fair pricing for residential and commercial projects. However, several low-star reviews highlight a recurring issue with schedule reliability, specifically citing last-minute cancellations or rescheduling without providing new dates.

We are pleased with our new driveway, it is smooth and drains well. Both the demo/ground prep and paving crews were friendly and professional. Our estimator/project manager (Alex) was outstanding and we highly recommend Agate.
I would not hire this company. They lay there asphalt too thin and charge way too much. They took advantage of my parents. Very unprofessional. Please stay far away from this company.
Agate Asphalt is an exceptional company and class act. Their employees are very respectful, helpful and genuinely care about doing a great job. They did a complete tear out of old asphalt and paved new driveways for both my mom’s house and our house. Alexander was our estimator and this guy deserves an employee of the decade award! His communication and follow through are outstanding. He came out to our house multiple times to help us navigate patching vs. all new pavement and to measure different areas due to a partial shared driveway that involved our neighbors. Due to neighbor decisions, we had to make several changes that required a new estimate each time. His patience and willingness to answer a mountain of questions went above and beyond. It’s rare to find this level of customer service anymore. Whenever we call the office, Missy always answers and is a delight to speak with. After the old asphalt was broken up and hauled away, Josh and Gage did a masterful job filling in sunken areas and grading so that the driveway would drain properly. One area was a bit challenging where it meets up with our neighbors driveway so they talked to the foreman and additional leveling tools were used to make sure the grade was just right. When we had questions throughout the day, Josh was more than happy to explain things and he was so kind and caring to my elderly mom when they worked on her driveway. The crew that poured the new asphalt made our driveway look incredible. I was not able to get all their names as the process is quite involved and everyone was focused on the task, but we wanted to thank everyone involved. Gage put a lot of effort into making the asphalt edges look finished. John was very accommodating. We asked him if it was possible to modify a small area near the house and he jumped right to it with his crew. He took the time to explain all the things that would help the asphalt stay looking nice and made sure we were happy with our new driveway. My mom had this same great experience. It was remarkable watching the whole paving process and all the work involved. Agate Asphalt gave us a great price and the best customer service imaginable. We highly recommend this company!
Thank you so much Corinne! I have shared your comments with the staff and the crew. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to leave a review as well as your business and trust. Best wishes and we look forward to helping you in the future
Big shout out to Agate Asphalt for doing a wonderful job on our driveway! These guys all went the extra mile, had great communication (Thanks Alexander, Missy, and Josh), and fit our budget. No date changes on our job either which I realize isn't always in their control but we do appreciate the stars aligning none the less. A really good experience working with them and I would never hesitate to recommend Agate Asphalt and their team for any paving project.
I was very impressed how prompt and responsive Agate Asphalt was in meeting with me regarding a project for my HOA community. Their estimate was thorough and clearly presented. I would not hesitate calling them again for a project bid.
Thank you Chris, we appreciate the comment. Our estimators strive for giving our customers the best experience possible.
Agate Asphalt did a tremendous job from start to finish. The finished product looks outstanding, and the quality of their work exceeded our expectations. The crew was professional, efficient, and left the site clean. Best of all, they were willing to accommodate our schedule, which made the entire project much easier to coordinate. We had a great experience and would not hesitate to recommend Agate Asphalt to anyone looking for quality paving work.
Thank you Bill for your business and your kind review!
Highly recommended. Twice our private road with 15 homes has used Agate Asphalt in the last 8 years. We couldn't be happier. Agate is a very conscientious trustworthy business. John, Agate's field agent is an exceptionally capable kind man. Very patient and honorable. Doesn't make any promises he isn't ready to keep. The work was done to our satisfaction - which with 15 different property owners isn't easy. Agate freely came back out to address a couple of small concerns. Then they delivered on their word. Several homeowners have also used them for their private driveways and all have been very happy. Agate even rolled one of our beloved seniors driveways for free! Nicole and Missy in the office are very friendly, responsive, and professional. They were amazing with the billing for us too! Not and easy task. We couldn't recommend Agate more highly. Excellent company to work with.
We have had our driveway sealed 3 times. This is the best it has ever looked. Very pleased with the results and can highly recommend them.
Thank you Jess ! We appreciate your business
My wife and I engaged Agate Asphalt to repair our 27 year-old driveway and approach to a 3-car garage. It was going to be a big investment so we chose carefully and couldn’t be happier with the product Agate delivered. The rip-out and replacement was done over two consecutive days by two hard-working crews, minimally disrupting our home. Everyone who worked on the project was unfailingly polite and considered all the details (sprinkler heads and concrete boundaries) to make the surface as seamless as possible. John Burns gave us an accurate estimate that ultimately became the final price. There was no growth, which was much appreciated. John Pirren flawlessly managed the removal and replacement of asphalt. He was everywhere for the two days of effort and kept us informed as the work progressed. Both of them have been with Agate for a long time and their experience really showed. I wish I cold mention every individual who was here by name. Just a really fine team. Working with Agate Asphalt was a very good decision. We paid a fair price for excellent work! Our thanks to everyone at Agate who made this come off so well.
Thank you Michael, we appreciate your business !
Agate Asphalt did a great job with a sports court - they did a great job of excavating and flattening the area, then the paving was done very efficiently and they were very flexible as we assessed the actual area and adopted the plans to fit the ground and physical space, and give us more room than we expected. Would highly recommend them to others - very professional, responsive and flexible.
