All About Canines, Positive Reinforcement Dog Training

We feel so lucky to have found All About Canines to train and care for our 5-month old Golden Retriever puppy. Penny’s expertise and calm demeanor immediately put us at ease upon arrival and she ultimately gave Mabel the best training and boarding care experience imaginable. It was most important to us that Mabel retain her sweetness and confidence throughout training, and to this end, we chose All About Canines for Penny’s positive reinforcement method. Penny’s facility has every last dog delight—outdoor spaces to run around and play, a variety of toys and equipment, and even a special dog bath area. We knew that our puppy would have endless fun there. Penny also used a variety of other locations to train, which helped our puppy build confidence in different situations. Penny kept in close touch with us throughout Mabel’s stay, sending us pictures and videos every day. After 5 weeks, we picked up a very happy, sweet and much better- behaved puppy, who clearly had a wonderful stay at All About Canines. Upon departure, we were also provided with a helpful report that detailed how our puppy was trained, and contained guidance and suggestions on how to handle her specific personality in upcoming developmental stages. Penny and All About Canines is a rare and wonderful find and I cannot recommend her facility more highly.

Easy 5 stars! We just wrapped up our second training package with Penny for our 6-month-old puppy, Nala. Getting a Malinois from the shelter, we knew positive reinforcement training was a must, and it has made all the difference. Nala has become a happy, confident dog who loves playing with other dogs and has overcome her post-shelter anxiety. Penny is just as great with people as she is with dogs, and she coached my husband and me beautifully throughout the process. We love Penny and will continue recommending her to everyone we know!

Penny is an exceptional dog trainer. She has such a warm, kind presence and a gentle approach, yet the dogs truly listen and respect her. It’s the perfect balance. We enrolled our 4½-month-old puppy in her 2-week intensive training program, and he came home happy, calm, and a much better listener. She helped break a few habits we had been struggling with and gave us the tools to continue reinforcing good behavior at home. What we appreciated most is how much she supports the owners too—she spent time walking us through everything, provided a detailed follow-up with training tips, and has been incredibly responsive to any questions since. She is very aware of his past abuses and tailors his training around that. I needed some help with my anxious senior dog Ellie who has separation anxiety and Penny was extremely helpful in giving us actionable exercises to reduce Ellie's anxiety. We learned a lot of ways to help redirect her anxiety in positive ways.
