Alternative Power installed our rather large water-cooled generator a few years back. The terrain was very challenging to say the least (think "side of a mountain") -- and they did a superb job on the installation. A few days ago, we received an alert from the system related to oil pressure. While the oil levels and pressure were fine (we checked), we had one of their technicians come out to see what might be causing it, of course. We were so fortunate to have Jeremy Furnier come out to do the diagnosis. In addition to updating our software and making a few tweaks, he identified an entire decision tree of actions that he could take if the alert happens again (it may not). His higher-order problem solving skills are masterful. He thinks about the generator system as if he is playing an advanced chess game--planning thoughtfully for all eventualities. Clearly he both knows his stuff AND can explain it to mere mortals like us. Gave us great confidence. What a GEM! Thank you so much!

The entire house generator quote was effectively communicated through multiple emails and phone conversations. The sales person was well versed in the selection and electrical aspect of the needed work.
Following the contract signing, Alternative Power secured city permits and scheduled the installation date. The physical and electrical installation process was completed within six hours, with preliminary electrical approvals obtained from the city inspector. The gas connection was finalized the following day.
The start-up was scheduled for after four days of final electrical and gas inspections. The total time for the start-up process was three hours, including and excluding load. I requested the start-up checklist, which should have been provided at the conclusion of the start-up but was delayed for several days.
A minor issue was the uncleaned electrical panels, which I vacuumed during the start-up process. It is essential that electrical panels are free from debris. Additionally, the dirt from the electrical conduit ditch was left on top of the nearby condensate drip collection point, which Alternative Power removed the following day.
