Changed review from five stars to two stars because the weed fabric installed didn’t even last one season. Tons of weeds started popping up and sprouting through the weed fabric. I called to see what they can do and they weren’t very helpful. I wish I didn’t pay for the weed fabric to be installed because it didn’t do anything. The other work was fine though.
Original review: Amherst Landscaping was great! They did quote and service within a week of each other. I provided feedback throughout the job and they were accommodating and listen to the feedback and did everything as requested, which was fantastic.

BEWARE! Look at who is posting the reviews rather than just looking at the rating. The people giving five star landscaping services in Amherst, NY are also reviewing other services in South Asia within days of each other. Since purchasing my home a couple years ago I've put at least $50K for fixes/updates. Never an issue besides this.
1. The window of the service was multiple weeks. They ultimately showed up and initiated the work while I was traveling in Arizona and I knew nothing about it until they sent pictures. Who starts thousands of dollars of work without letting the customer know they'll be arriving and the homeowner isn't present? Especially when you're laying sod that needs to be watered!!!
2. The work wasn't completed as requested. As part of the initial discussion there would be cinder blocks, pallets, and fencing removed from a section of a backyard behind the shed that would require being hauled away. After repeated requests they never did the haul job. The sod near the sidewalk was poorly laid and quickly "detached" from the ground and rotted.
3. They requested payment in full after the initial [incomplete] work was done. I was too trusting based on past work and it gave me zero leverage to have them fix the remaining issues.
The only reason I didn't pursue small claims court was because the time/frustration wasn't worth the hassle. I should have knew better when they were eager and available to do the work when every other company I called was booked for weeks out.

I don’t remember the name of the two gentleman who performed the work but they did an excellent job! Working in the cold for hours. Another gentleman in my neighborhood stopped by as he was impressed. I have hired them to do my weekly mowing as my husband is unfortunately too ill to do it himself.
