Reviewers frequently cite compassionate staff, thorough explanations, and fair pricing for routine care, including services for exotic animals. Positive feedback highlights punctual emergency intake and attentive follow-up communications. However, lower-rated reviews point to inconsistent front desk availability, concerns about diagnostic thoroughness for complex cases, and occasional dissatisfaction with billing practices or communication regarding appointment scheduling.

Dr. Moore and the staff at Animal Care Associates really go the extra mile for our Zeke who has many health issues. I can tell they really love him and care about him. They are compassionate and provide great care. I highly recommend them.
Took very good care of my cat during her checkup and vaccines. Very sweet to her and she relaxed immediately. They were very patient and detailed when explaining procedures and options to me and even texted me the day after to check in and see how my cat was doing after her vaccines. The cost of the appointment was far less than I initially expected and I thought it was very fair. I can tell how much they love and care about animals here and I'm more than happy to come back.
My cat, Pumpkin, has boarded at Animal Care Associates numerous times in the last few years. She has also been cared for by the veterinary staff. From my experiences with the veterinarians and staff over the years I have come to trust that Pumpkin receives excellent care and attention both as a patient and as a border.
Very caring and very helpful. Great friendly staff!
A wonderful place to help maintain your pet's health. A very caring staff of hoomans to love and care for your furry, feathered, reptilian friends. Doc Patton is amazing. ❤️
I understand my appointment was very last minute but I am completely distraught and in shambles. M y leopard gecko was seen by them after a cat attack and I was told he was stable and there was no further issues and he was healthy. When I got home and gave him his medication he started gagging, wrenching, and breathed with his mouth gaping. I called them and asked if it was normal or if I needed to bring him back. I was told leopard geckos can be "dramatic" and he just disliked the medication. I asked again if the open mouth breathing was normal and was told yes. I was told to leave him alone since the breathing was due to stress. 2 hours later I went to check on him and he had passed away. When moving him to his coffin I noticed his stomach was bruised from what I believe was internal damage. This was never disclosed to me. I lost the most precious soul today due to misinformation. I dont think I can ever come back from this.
The staff at Animal Care Associates are great and very professional and knowledgeable with all your pet care needs
Being a dog grooming salon owner in Barboursville, I understand how hard it is to get a brand new appointment in as fast as you all did. Especially a random newbie! and with very little information about the reptile I had, you all still got me in almost immediately and fixed my beardy who was in dire need of an emergency tail amputation. I really appreciate and would like to acknowledge the staff that pulled all the strings in the background to make that happen for us.
Amazing staff! They are always nice and listen to my concerns. Even if I'm just overly paranoid lol. This is where I have taken all my furbabies for their care.
Sally needed euthanasia services and they were all so very kind and respectful
