Had 3 different PTSs in 4 sessions. Unprofessional environment. PTs always playing around goofing off feels like a high school gym not serious physical therapy.

One of my passions in life is playing tennis. So when my knee started to give me problems, I was pretty distraught. I went to a knee specialist with high hopes there was some miracle surgery that would solve my problem and get me back on the court. But was instead advised to try physical therapy first. Putting more pressure on my knee with physical therapy seemed counter intuitive. But I went to ATHLETIC PT where I met Dr. Alexa Tanoto. She explained that although I’ll be putting pressure on my knee, I will be building up muscles around the knee that supports the knee. This in theory would take pressure off my knee, relieving the pain. So I started going two times a week for PT where she introduced me to some exercises designed to build up muscles that would help take pressure off my knee. I also did 2-3 days a week at home on my own with the exercises Alexa taught me at ATHLETIC PT. Was happy to find out within a couple of weeks I could walk with minimal pain. Sometimes no pain. So I kept with it. And my skepticism started to fade with the pain. I kept progressing and now a firm believer in what Alexa was doing for me. In fact, after weeks of my PT I started to play tennis again. I’m still easing into it, but I am back on the court. That’s HUGE for me. Thanks Alexa and the rest of the team at ATHLETIC for all that you’ve done and will do for me in the future to keep me on the court.

I don’t really know how to explain how wonderful, compassionate and skilled my PT Kristine from WLA Athletic is. I have been an athlete for a bazillion years (ultra running, endurance riding, bla bla bla). I am pretty good at listening to my body. But this time, my body was speaking a strange language that I couldn’t quite understand. I was in severe pain (no big deal, it was only when I moved). Kristine was very compassionate about my level of pain (some sessions I came in crying like a baby). On these days she worked her magic massage / traction on me. She figured out that I needed to walk a fine line between range of motion and strengthening. That is what my body was trying to tell me! And she is happy to explain it to me. Little by little I’m getting stronger and I can walk without pain now! Kristine is PT royalty, she’s the best!

I am so grateful for the physical therapist Alexa at Athletic Physical Therapy who helped me gradually build strength. This eliminated pain that I was struggling with in various body parts. She is very knowledgeable. Both Alexa and her assistant Son were amazing and attentive during each session. The front desk employees are very kind as well. It was easy to book or reschedule sessions. I was enjoying every session at Athletic Physical Therapy. It's a great friendly place for people of any age to improve their health with the guidance of amazing therapists. The gym equipment is great here as well.

Athletic Physical Therapy is just what I'd hoped for. The entire staff knows what they are doing and they help people of all shapes, stripes and activity level. For me, an active person who counts on the gym.... Alyna and team worked with me on specific exercises and adjusting them and adapting them. Alyna helps me greatly. Kudos to the whole place. The facility is terrific... just what I wanted.

I went back to Athletic after ACL surgery (I went before for prehab and was equally pleased), and I can say they are for sure the best physical therapy clinic ever. Kevin and Jonathan are amazing, dedicated, and caring PTs, and Leslie, Syl, and Ayana are amazing aides. The entire team has great energy, and they all care about their patients doing well. I would recommend them to anyone!

Unfortunately had a frustrating experience with the front desk staff (Kevin) while trying to book my 16 authorized PT sessions referred by my specialist. When I asked basic questions about the physical therapist who would be treating me, I was told they could not share that information due to "therapist privacy" which is not a standard practice at any medical facility I have encountered. Patients have every right to know who will be treating them before committing to a course of treatment. (((I didnt ask for every therapist name! I asked for the person who is going to work with me on the first session, and also I have provided my name, and insurance info.))))

Response from the owner · 4 months ago

Hi Aliyar, we are sorry for any confusion, as we always strive to provide a 5-star experience. We want to clarify that all of our patients absolutely have access to their therapists' name and license for verification purposes. However, because we did not have any of your information on file yet, and asking for the first and last names of "every" therapist on staff over the phone is a very unusual request, our team was cautious about a potential phishing attempt. Usually, true patients are most interested in matching a specific therapist's expertise with their condition, which we are always happy to discuss during the intake process! We would still love to help you utilize your authorized sessions. Please email your authorization to [email protected], and we will be happy to assist you in getting properly scheduled.

After years of physical therapy, I hit the jackpot. Kevin keeps me moving with a varied program that never gets boring. I’m always surprised that there are so many different machines that meet my needs, and I don’t suffer pain as I work out. I have made progress, but at my age there’s always something to work on. Linda

Hitting the jackpot after years of physical therapy is a huge win, Linda! Dr. Kevin loves keeping your workouts varied and pain-free, but the true credit for your wonderful progress belongs entirely to your own hard work and consistency. You've earned every bit of this success!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I am so happy I found this physical therapy facility! I fought really hard with my (horrible) insurance company (Regal) to allow me to go to Athletic PT. All of the other Regal options had 2-3 stars and took 2 months to get a 1st appointment. Athletic PT (and Leslie at front desk) were super patient with Regal dropping the ball (causing me to change my new patient appnt 4 times!) 🗓️📆 Scheduling has been very easy because they have many excellent therapists on hand. I enjoyed working with Alexa and Kristen who have both helped me so much. The facility is extensive with many exercise machines and an array of various PT bands, bars, etc. Athletic PT is a normal gym was well. Very clean and doesn't smell. Great music, not too loud. 🏋️‍♀️ Unfortunately, Regal will stop offering Athletic PT to future patients, which means I am now forced to go to the 2-3 star facilities. 😭 I'm really going to miss Athletic PT!! Thank you for everything! 🙏💪⭐

Fighting so hard for your own health and navigating those frustrating insurance hurdles shows incredible dedication! Leslie, Dr. Alexa, and Kristen loved supporting you through the scheduling maze and guiding your recovery in the gym. However, the real credit for the progress you made belongs entirely to your own hard work and perseverance. We are absolutely heartbroken that Regal cancelled our contract and will miss having you in the clinic! Thank you for trusting our A-Team—you have built a wonderful foundation of strength to carry with you wherever your healing journey takes you next!
