I was going to avoid a review because I had sent two emails with pictures expressing my concern with a $26,000 interior renovation of my house and the painter. Ross did come back and touched up a few areas but now that my house is empty and I’m getting ready to list i, I’m coming across a lot more concerns with quality. I’ve been in property management for 16 years and real estate for 7 and I deal with contractors every day and I know how things should look. I’ve voiced my concerns on several occasions and I feel that Lonnie the supervisor spent a lot of time defending his employees, regardless of the fact that I wasn’t badmouthing them as people at all and had just simply been expressing my concern at a $26,000 job that did not look like it was done by a professional. I felt that I was given the brush off and then the owner came over when I was at work and according to the painter, Ross, the owner said that I didn’t pay for some of the prep work to the walls that I had complained about. Since when is sanding, spackling and preparing a wall considered an add-on? That’s all part of prep work. Again I wasn’t going to leave a bad review but now, I have to hire my regular contractor who wasn’t available for the original job to come back and fix more areas of concern. Attached are some of the pictures that Ross did come back and touch up the paint but I just took some more today. Again, I wanted to leave this alone, but this is a lot of money. Furthermore, when I asked why one of their crew was painting the wall after the new baseboards were put up he said he was told that that’s how he was trained to do things which makes no sense because now there’s paint on the brand new baseboards. I met with the owner at the end of January and hired them for the job and got started later in the spring due to a health issue on my part and I never heard from the owner again despite my voicing my concerns to the supervisor. I feel like they had a bigger job going on and that they were rushing through my house to get to another place and that I was just put on the back burner as some high maintenance complainer, which I’m not.
Update 7/1 in response to owner;
I did request that someone come back when the house was vacant as it’d be easier to do a thorough walk through and address issues and Lonnie’s exact words were, “no we don’t want to come back when it’s vacant. We want to get it over with now.”
This and the “we’re too busy for a walk through today” even though I had clarified it could wait until shortly before we listed the house which would’ve given Banah almost a month to fix things properly were what made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. I also found it unprofessional that their guys were unprepared borrowing tools from me, asking me to tape off areas I wanted special attention paid, asking how to assemble the vanity, etc. I was recovering from surgery and put in a position to play project manager. I didn’t have the energy to deal so I just acquiesced.

We had a balcony leak that had plagued us for several years. It had been repaired, incorrectly, before and continued to leak.
Lonnie gave us a competitive bid and Dan his Lead carpenter did a wonderful job fixing it.
