I can’t say enough good things about Jasmine! 💕 I first went to her about two years ago for a color correction, and she absolutely worked her magic. She helped me transition from blonde back toward my natural color in a way that looked beautiful but also gave me something much more low-maintenance, which was exactly what I needed. Since then, she’s become my go-to for my hair, and I genuinely trust her every time I sit in her chair. Her color work is amazing, her haircuts are so good, and she always makes my hair look and feel better than when I walked in. She’s talented, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and just genuinely great at what she does. I’m leaving this review because, while I initially liked the color, the overall experience was disappointing and honestly left me feeling uncomfortable. I booked this appointment in March with Hailey while I was visiting family for about a month and a half. I normally go to salons and stylists I’m familiar with, specifically Black stylists who understand how to work with my hair, but this was a spontaneous decision to get my hair done while I was in town, so I decided to take a chance with a stylist I didn’t know. After this experience, I definitely won’t be doing that again. I’m a black woman with a full head of naturally curly hair, and I made a note when booking the appointment letting the stylist know this so she could prepare accordingly. From the moment I arrived, I spent the first 25 minutes hearing how overwhelmed she was and how she didn’t know how she was going to make my hair work despite my positive and cooperative attitude. Halfway through the appointment, she told me she was having to push back her next appointment, which was a haircut, because my hair was taking too long. She also told me she wouldn’t have enough time to style it. I understand that curly hair can take more time, but I had disclosed my hair type when booking. Being made to feel like my hair was an inconvenience was upsetting, especially as I was sitting around other clients whose hair seemed to be much easier for her and the other stylists to work with. I left feeling more like a burden than a client who had paid for a service. The most frustrating part is that I was charged a hefty amount, yet my hair wasn’t properly styled or even fully dried. I have Black 3b-3c curly hair, and the stylist did not seem comfortable working with my texture. At one point, she mentioned having another curly-haired client from a place where the population and hair textures were very different from mine, as though that experience was relevant. But having worked with someone who has curly hair doesn’t necessarily mean you’re experienced with Black/melanated hair, and unfortunately, that seemed to be the case here. I actually liked the color when I first left, but within a month or two it had turned a very brassy yellow and felt very crunchy and unhealthy. Even more than the color fading, though, it was the experience that stayed with me. I left the appointment liking the color but really disliking how my hair was styled. I felt like I looked like a wet dog because my hair was not detangled and it was never properly dried with a blow dryer and diffuser attachment which is the least she could have done. I’m naturally non-confrontational, which is probably why I didn’t leave this review sooner and I figured it was my fault for trusting a stylist like this. But after reflecting on the experience, I feel it’s important to be honest so this does not happen to anyone else in the future. For the amount of money I spent, I expected to feel taken care of and confident leaving the salon, not embarrassed or like my hair was a problem to be dealt with. 2 stars for the initial color, but unfortunately I wouldn’t return. I’ll stick with stylists who are actually experienced with my hair texture from now on.

Leanna is absolutely amazing! I am obsessed with my hair. I had never had my hair dyed before and was super nervous, but Leanna went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and explained the whole process to me. She really took her time with my hair and I couldn’t be happier with the way it looks. I have tried various salons in the area, but hadn’t found one I felt great about until now. The entire staff is very kind and truly care about the results of their work. I’m so excited to come back!

I was recommended to Bare Studios by my friend Ana, and I’m so glad she introduced me to this salon! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the entire team. Ana always does an amazing job on my lashes and brows she’s truly the best at what she does. Julie also did my hair, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. She got my red color exactly how I wanted it, and it turned out beautifully. What really stands out to me is how much the team genuinely cares about the health of my hair while still delivering great results.
