Reviewers frequently cite fair pricing, high-quality workmanship, and the owner’s responsiveness to inquiries or issues. Sent an email for a quote to 4 different companies that repair / replace sea walls. Rick emailed me back in under an hour and saw him the next day. He gave me spectacular information on my sea wall and its construction warning signs. It was a pleasure to speak to him and get his professional experience and perspective.

Steven, Thank you for the great 5-star review! It was a pleasure meeting with you and discussing your seawall. The good news is that your existing wall still has some life left in it, and there’s no reason to replace it before it's necessary. At Barefoot Marine, we believe in giving homeowners honest advice and helping them make informed decisions. We appreciate the opportunity to meet with you and hope to earn your business when the time comes to rebuild your seawall!

As part of a rebuild project on our lot in Jax Beach, we needed to build a new Bulkhead as we back to Lake Duval. After talking with several parties, we selected Rick and his company, Barefoot Marine. They were not the low bidder, but Rick worked with me on a price that was mutually beneficial. While it took awhile to get started, mainly due to permitting issues with the City of Jacksonville Beach, once started the job was completed on time and one the budget we agreed an contracted for. The original plan was to build in front of the old bulkhead, but the City required it's removal, which Rick and team did. This was not in the SOW we agreed upon, but Rick did not bill us for this labor and expense, which was surprising and also much appreciated. The variable aspects of his proposal were for backfill dirt and spring of the same, which all came in on or under budget. The new wall looks great and we have received a number of compliments on both the appearance and quality of Barefoot Marine's work and product. Thanks Rick and appreciate all!
When we found a broken bulkhead tieback rod, we were relieved to discover Barefoot Marine, a trusted name in marine construction and bulkhead repair. Rick quickly visited our property and recommended installing new stainless steel tieback rods alongside the old ones, paired with an updated anchor system. This smart, cost-effective solution was less invasive and preserved our seawall’s integrity, adding years to its lifespan.Despite their busy schedule with larger marine projects, Rick kindly worked our bulkhead repair into their timeline. The team’s professionalism, quick response, and solid workmanship shone through, delivering an affordable fix that enhanced the look of our waterfront property. We’re grateful for Barefoot Marine’s reliable service and highly recommend them for seawall repairs, tieback rod replacements, or any marine construction needs. Their quality work and customer care make them a top choice!
Great work. Professional, courteous, efficient and quality work. Zeb was primary contact for us, and went out of his way to make sure he understood exactly what we were asking for. Highly recommend!
They did my dock eight years ago on the intercoast waterway PVB. I have never had any issues with it, the guys are still available today whenever I want to make any changes or need help. I highly recommend them.
We just completed a total rebuild of our 300’+ Dock, with Barefoot Marine. They did an outstanding job, and it looks spectacular. The crew made an effort to avoid any turf damage, and every day laid down boards across the lawn, and picked them up each evening. Rick is extremely professional and corrects things if there are any hiccups during construction, excellent to work with. I would recommend this marine construction company without hesitation.

Rick and his team were outstanding in our bulkhead repair. We had another company do a full bulkhead replacement in 2020. The bulkhead failed within months and had to be replaced (again). Same company performed the second replacement, and didn't construct an appropriate anchor/ tie back system, which caused movement in the wall. I hired Rick and his team to come in and repair the existing bulkhead. They created an anchor system that will hold the bulkhead in place well beyond the lifespan of the vinyl pilings they are anchoring. Rick was professional, fair, and his team was very respectful of our property. I give Rick and Barefoot Marine Construction our highest recommendation.
