Customers rate the mobile grooming service highly for its convenience, punctuality, and ability to manage anxious or senior pets. Positive reviews frequently cite clear communication, professional handling, and satisfactory results for full grooms, deshedding, and nail care. However, lower-rated feedback highlights recurring issues with incomplete services, missed appointments, and poor follow-up communication. Several reviewers also expressed concern over perceived unsafe driving behavior and disputes regarding full charges for unfinished work.

I booked a full groom for my Miniature Schnauzer, Duke, on October 15 and paid $95. The service was incomplete and rushed. Duke's ear cleaning was skipped, and his paw pads were still matted. When I contacted the groomer named Don, they said they ran out of time but charged me the full amount without a discount or an offer to finish the job. Mobile grooming is a premium service, and I expect to receive the full service I paid for.
To all of our dear customers, and to everyone coming here to decide whether to hire us: this response is a love letter to you. You deserve to understand how we operate. This is written for you, because once again, we are addressing a review from a bot describing an experience that never happened. At this point, it’s clear to us that someone or some competitor is currently targeting us to defame and harm our business. And honestly, in a way, it’s understandable. We have earned our five-star reputation by doing what comes naturally to us: caring deeply about our work and the pets entrusted to us. Someone with no morals or character might find it easier to spend time trying to bring us down than to level up their own game. It must be upsetting to see a business thriving when you would rather see it fail. We are a serious company, with real, meticulous records of every customer we serve: dates, times, payments, dogs’ names, and breeds. We have never served anyone under your name or groomed a Miniature Schnauzer named Duke—on October 15 or any other date. There is no matching appointment or $95 transaction. Whoever wrote this review didn’t even bother to research what we actually charge for a full groom for a Schnauzer. At this point, we won’t keep explaining what they got wrong and helping them improve the next version. But sir, when it comes to making a fabricated appointment sound believable, you are really bad at being bad. It’s safe to say you don’t have much of a talent for this. Consider another line of work. We have documented these incidents, reported the reviews to Google for investigation, and reported the matter to local authorities. It’s crazy how much they can trace back nowadays. As for what comes next and who may be held responsible, we will let the evidence speak. To our customers, thank you for trusting us with your pets and supporting the people who care for them. We will continue earning that trust through compassionate care, quality grooming, and accountability—the same standards we bring to every appointment. And to whoever is posting these fabricated reviews: thank you. Each of our hundreds of five-star reviews comes from a real customer and is precious to us. But each fabricated review gives us another opportunity to come here and reassure our customers about the care and professionalism we put into every detail of our work. Otherwise, we might never have had a reason to explain some of these important things we do. And that is priceless. Thank you. Since you’ve been helping us so much, we feel compelled to return the favor—with a suggestion: seek counseling. All this hate can’t be doing good for you. Keep giving us this much attention, and we’ll start feeling like the superstars of the grooming industry. We’re probably on the right path and doing something very well! Even behind false names and accounts, you have no idea how loudly these actions speak about who you are—and how little they say about us.
Highly recommend for anyone and especially anyone who has a reactive/fearful dog! My dog does not trust easily, and she can be very hard to work with. They did an excellent job handling her! It’s so convenient having them come to the house. Worth every penny!!
I had an appointment for my dog Kate with a mobile grooming service on October 22 at 11 AM, but it was canceled the same day without an alternative. My attempts to contact them went unanswered for five days. While I understand logistical issues can arise, clear communication and respect for my time are crucial. I will seek a more reliable service in the future.
Hi Mario, We have serious concerns about the authenticity of your review and whether it is part of a coordinated effort to deliberately damage our business’s reputation. We have reported this review as suspected malicious online activity and a potential attempt to harm our business. After thoroughly reviewing our customer and appointment records, we found absolutely no record of ever providing services to you, including on October 22. Even more concerning, your Google review history shows a striking similarity to another one-star reviewer, Siben Dey. Both profiles appear to have previously reviewed businesses in New York, yet both have posted negative reviews targeting our mobile grooming business in California’s Bay Area. These similarities raise serious concerns that these reviews may have been solicited or coordinated by a competitor with the intention of damaging our reputation. We take this matter extremely seriously and are documenting the circumstances surrounding these reviews. If you are a legitimate customer using a different name, please contact us directly with your appointment details, including your dog’s name and breed, so we can verify your claims, identify the groomer who served you, and investigate your experience. If you have never received services from us, we demand that you remove this review immediately. We reserve the right to pursue appropriate legal action should evidence establish that this review was fabricated, commissioned, or posted as part of a coordinated effort to harm our business. We welcome honest feedback and legitimate criticism from genuine customers. However, we will not tolerate fabricated reviews, deliberate misrepresentation, or malicious attempts to undermine the reputation we have worked hard to establish.
I observed a vehicle displaying this business’s branding driving through my neighborhood. The driver appeared to be speeding, followed other vehicles very closely, and cut in front of cars in a manner I considered unsafe and violated the traffic law. This was particularly concerning in a residential neighborhood where children frequently walk. Based on what I witnessed, I found the driving behavior reckless and unprofessional. I have not used this company’s pet-care services, so my review is based solely on my firsthand observation of the driving incident.
This one will get an answer, but only because of the immense respect and care we have for all our current and future customers. They're the ones who matter to us. Rest assured that our certified groomers give every pup complete, head-to-tail care, using industry-leading products, handling, and techniques. We take feedback very seriously. Whether it's related to the grooms we deliver or the way we drive on the road, we are fully open to listening and growing from the feedback of our dear customers. We can say with certainty that the incident described in this review did not occur. It comes from a fake account, with a fake name, a fake profile photo, and a fake review containing, of course, fake information. Apparently, the story needed to be revised and changed yet again—we're already on version four of this review. Our commitment to road safety starts with hiring. All of our groomers have years of driving experience and spotless driving records—giving us no reason to believe they would suddenly start driving irresponsibly now. It continues on the road: our vans are equipped with speed limiters and dashcams that record while driving and while parked—even when, for example, someone comes by to take a photo of our parked van. We reviewed footage from our entire fleet, and the situation described in this review did not occur. The van pictured had been parked in the same spot since 3:40 p.m., when it was still bright outside. A nighttime photo of our parked van does not corroborate the "hot pursuit" action movie scene described in this review. Perhaps that detail will make it into review version 5.0. Our camera footage and the recorded timeline, of course, won't need any revisions. Lastly, they probably also don't realize that a Ford Transit with a high roof and extended body needs room to accelerate, maneuver, and brake safely—especially a fully converted and equipped grooming van carrying all that additional weight. No driver could make it dart in front of other cars and stop like a sports car. Even Lewis Hamilton would struggle to perform the "stunt" described here. Fortunately, we don't need to speculate about what happened. It is unfortunate that we live in times when it's not uncommon to see people take pride in their lack of morals and lack of kindness—people who seek satisfaction in harming others. We are, however, neither surprised nor shaken. In their attempt to harm this business, they have only succeeded in embarrassing themselves. We won't lower ourselves to their level. We'll leave the rest to karma. Some people will always focus on pettiness. We will remain focused on providing exceptional service. Our customers deserve an accurate account, and we are comfortable letting the documented facts speak for themselves. We remain committed to our mission and our dear customers, delivering the best grooms and pet care we can, every single day.
I booked a mobile grooming appointment for my dog on October 3rd, and the experience was disappointing. I found uneven cuts, nails quicked and bleeding, and leftover mats behind the ears. I had requested a gentle approach due to my dog's anxiety, which was not followed. Given the premium price, I expected professional handling and attention to detail. I will not be booking again.
Hi Siben, We would like to give you the benefit of the doubt and consider the possibility that this review was posted in error. However, if it was deliberately fabricated or posted on someone else’s behalf to damage our business, we would consider appropriate legal action. Please double-check that you have reviewed the correct business. After carefully checking our customer and appointment records, we found no record of ever providing services to you, including on October 3. We also noticed that your other Google reviews appear to be for businesses in New York, while we serve California’s Bay Area, so there may have been a mix-up. If your Google profile uses a different name from the one used for your booking, please contact us directly with your appointment details so we can locate your booking, along with your dog’s name and breed, identify the groomer who served you, understand what happened, and discuss how we can improve your experience. If this review was intended for another business or does not reflect an actual experience with us, we respectfully request that you remove it promptly. False or misleading reviews can unfairly harm a business’s reputation, and we reserve the right to take appropriate steps to protect ours. Thank you for your understanding.
Fantastic experience with Barks in the Bay Mobile Pet Grooming! Amber did an amazing job with our dogs. The attention to detail, professionalism, and quality of their work were outstanding. The convenience of having them come directly to our home was a huge plus. Our dogs looked and smelled amazing afterward. Highly recommend their services, and we’ll definitely be using Amber again!
It was Marley’s first grooming with Barksinthebay Grooming and I didn’t know what to expect, my feelings were all over the place with Marley being a senior dog and had been sick lately. However, I took a chance and I’m so glad that I did. Don was our groomer, right off the bat, he’s very pleasant to talk to! He took time to listen and have me explain Marley’s situation and my concerns. Don did a phenomenal job on Marley! We are so happy to see Marley at his cute self again and to our surprise, so energetic! Don is very experienced with older dogs, which furry parents can be left feeling at ease! We are very satisfied, and highly recommend Don with Barksinthebay Grooming! 😊🐶
Super easy and convenient. Great for poodles!
Quick and on time.
