Customers frequently praise the company for skilled pruning, removal, and pest control services, noting prompt scheduling, thorough cleanup, and professional communication. However, low-star reviews consistently criticize the $125 estimate fee, describing the quoting process as difficult and unresponsive to follow-up requests for incomplete work.

I love using these guys, and we've worked on two urban jobs, South Boston and Cambridge. They are not only excellent at their jobs, but the crew is professional, courteous, and thorough.

Did a fine job but that was not fully completed in my view - they came back out and said someone would come and finish the work but I’ve been ignored since asking for them to come back and finish properly. Not impressive customer service making me consider using other firms in the future.

We have a very large tree that Barrett has cared for for years (and a much smaller one) and they always do an excellent job. That includes cabling needed several years ago, pruning as needed, and tree health and pest control treatments. Both the arborists and crews that do the work have been awesome to work with – very skilled, thorough, flexible, and well organized. Highly recommended!

The estimate was made promptly. The work was scheduled within days. The team of workers were skilled. This was the first time I used an arborist since I moved here from Oregon. I am very pleased and would gladly recommend Barrett Tree Service.

We have had Barrett Tree Service East keep our mature trees - some over 80 + year old healthy and trimmed for several years now. Ryan helped us rescue an 80 year old Japanese maple after a dry and extremely varied temperature winter. Barrett has also helped keep our 30 foot yews trimmed back so that their boughs don't break with the weight of heavy snow falls. Ryan is responsive to questions and will often come out to assess a problem in person.

As always, Barrett dud a great job. We've used them for pruning back trees away from the house and also for dead tree removal. Their office is responsive and the people that come to do the work are very knowledgeable and nice. Will continue to work with them as needed!

This company was recommended to me as one that truly cares for trees, instead of just taking them down, which is what I was looking for. I have a few trees I've been wanting to get checked out to make sure they're doing ok, and Barrett Tree Services really came through. They came out to look at the property, talked through all the options, and suggested both treatments for the trees and ways to give them longer to thrive by pruning them. They were prompt, kind, explained everything really well, and did a great job. I'm so glad I went with them.
