BLS Education Center - Grain Valley at a glance

Google reviewers rate BLS Education Center 4.8 out of 5 based on 225 reviews, with the owner responding to only 3% of comments. Positive feedback frequently highlights organized educational activities, clean facilities, and staff who are described as caring and attentive to individual children. However, critical reviews cite strict expulsion policies for minor behavioral issues, refusal to allow potty-trained children to use the restroom, and poor communication from management. Some parents also question the authenticity of positive reviews and note that monthly costs are higher than local competitors.

My 18 month old has been at BLS since he was 9 months old. We have unfortunately experienced very bad daycares in the surrounding area before, and we were hesitant to give BLS a chance. I thought daycares were hopeless. However our son has thrived at BLS and we feel very safe leaving him there. There is not a teacher there that doesn’t know a child’s name, or who their parents are. We are given proper communication about changes and expectations. They are quick to take accountability for concerns. I saw another review that mentioned they won’t allow potty trained children to use the restroom. If your child is not in the 2 year old room yet then, yes. There is not enough child to staff ratio to send every one year old to the potty. That is state mandated. Particularly when the pediatric standards aren’t to start potty training until they are 2.5 years old. Don’t believe every review you read without context. The staff and owner at this place work very hard to learn, adapt, and provide good care for your child at a reasonable price.

My child was here for 4 days before being on the “3 strikes you’re out” list. 4 DAYS!! I let staff know ahead of time that she struggles with some behavioral issues due to some other things and they very rudely said “well the rules apply to all children”. 4 days after putting down my deposit she was expelled and not allowed to come back let alone I couldn’t get my deposit back. What did I get as I was packing her things? “Better luck at the next daycare because we will not be reapplying her”. HOW RUDE!! Parents, if your child struggles with their emotions and how to regulate them, this is not the place to go!

Our daughter has attended BLS GV for 3 months now and it’s been a transition for her coming from family to school. But the staff is so warm and welcoming. I highly recommend them. Our daughter has learned so much in her short period of time, it’s amazing. Cindy, Tiffany, Mallory, Nema, Tasha, Mallory and Danielle are absolutely amazing! I am sure there are others but these are the ones our daughter talks about most often! 🩷 Thank you so much for being so wonderful to our family! We appreciate you all more than you know!

They refuse to let potty trained kids use the restroom and make them wear diapers. My daughter has been potty trained for 6 months and they refuse to let her use the restroom. Feels great spending $1k a month for a place that doesnt allow my kid to use the restroom.

The truthful reviews don't lie. This is a truly horrible daycare. Hopefully, with more people moving to the area, better daycares will open up, and the market will self correct and put this terrible place out of business. BTW Valley Kids is $50 a month cheaper for before and after school care :)

Notice all positive reviews posted at the same time? I pulled my kids out for many reasons but nothing awful with the teachers. I asked for their progress reports two days after giving notice and they told me they had thrown them out. (My kids were still attending another two weeks). The owner told the teachers I had problems with them after I specifically stated they were wonderful and they were not any reason why I was leaving. She got UGLY once I gave a notice to leave. I wish I would’ve read some of the reviews before selecting BLS.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Our son started having increased behavioral issues once he started here. The staff doesn't pay close enough attention to the kids either. Allows other kids to not only lift up a chair but hit other kids with it also. Where was the staff when this was going on? Why weren't they able to intervene before a kid got hit. Once we pulled our son out of this daycare his behaviors got better.

Tiffany is extremely rude. I was made to come pick my toddler up on day 5 of him attending this center because he was throwing a tantrum (god forbid an almost two-year-old throws a fit). Then she yells at me for not downloading the app, proceeded to tell me we are no longer welcome to come there. BLS GRAIN VALLEY PAYS FOR THEIR GOOD REVIEWS. They are NOT A 4.9 star facility! They don’t know how handle toddler tantrums, they yell at the kids and parents (overheard them yelling at kids to go to time out), my son had been pulled to the office numerous times at age 1 because they expect perfect behavior. Yet, my son was bit in the FACE the other day and the girl was not sent home. My son didn’t even hurt anyone and was sent home over a tantrum and he fell asleep after being in the car for five minutes. A bunch of people who don’t know how to handle kids work here. Who puts a ONE YEAR old in time out? They don’t understand that! I did tell TIFFANY off on my way out the exit because she wanted to tell me “Have a great day!” After all that. My son being kicked out of that facility is a huge blessing because they don’t know what they’re doing at all. I will be reporting this daycare. They also charged me $265 for four days (they made me pick him up Friday morning) and I haven’t been refunded for anything not my enrollment fee or key cards.
