I trust both of my parents with getting caregivers to this organization… They’re very flexible, responsible, hold your hand through any issues, and overall could not imagine a better organization or a better led organization. They are always responsive when you need them, get right back to you, and treat your family members just like they were their own.

My experience with Buckingham when my mother and I were going through Savannah Magazine, looking at the various ads for assisted-living as respite possibilities when I needed to travel. We decided to make an appointment and visit Buckingham South on Abercorn, meeting Rita and had a wonderful tour. While there we heard about Buckingham @ Home. Mom was fine at the time having survived well several strokes. However, at some point, she got C-dif And had to be hospitalized for about a week. It can be highly contagious and there are lots of precautions. As she was being released, I was frantic to find in-home care, and no one would touch a client with C-dif. I remembered Buckingham @ Home and called. Ephraim answered and said, “no problem we can handle that,” and sent a wonderful woman that evening to meet us at the house. She stayed with mom overnight and then became mom’s several day a week caregiver. Mom just needed a little help around her apartment, maybe help with lunch, maybe a little light swiffering and dusting that she could no longer do, and of course, an weekly trip back-and-forth to Walmart. Over the course of time, when mom needed a little bit more care, including more frequent overnights, every single caregiver who was sent was sweet, gentle, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. On one occasion, when it appeared that mom was having another stroke, Effie called 911, then me, and then she followed the ambulance to the hospital and waited there until I arrived. Mom‘s apartment was part of our house, so having caregivers who I could trust, not just in her apartment, but in my home was very important. No family members ever showed up at the door as happened with other care agencies. Caregivers arrived on time and we’re outstanding companions, particularly at night, when so often it’s tempting to turn on a blaring television or something on the phone to stay awake. One of the overnight ladies started reading some of. the books that mom had on her coffee table!! The final and most beautiful moment was actually when mom was dying. Her friends from the church choir had just come in and serenade her. She couldn’t talk, but she could hear and smile and rock, her knees back-and-forth to the music. They left, she closed her eyes, and I prayed with her a little and then her breathing started to change just as Angelique knocked at the door. She was the evening caregiver. She stood on the other side of mom’s bed, and began to pray with me I told her her name was Angelique/Angel for a reason. God had sent her to be with me as mom was passing on. She was the perfect midwife to be there with me as mom entered eternal life! Ephraim , who is head of Buckingham @ Home, is wonderful to work with!! He is always available. He is attentive, does take the time to make on-site visits to see how things are going, and works closely with his caregivers. I know this is long, but I can’t say enough good things of my experience with Buckingham @ Home. They were the best partners for helping me take care of my mother as she was declining. They were more than just caregivers, an agency that I hired, they became our friends.
Buckingham at Home took care of my mother for almost a year. Not only were the caregivers excellent but staff was always available to answer our questions and work through the difficult times with us- I wholeheartedly recommend using them.

Buckingham at Home is an excellent care provider. The owners are personally involved with the business, they listen and respond to clients in a timely manner. The quality of our caregiver is off the charts. The caregiver has become part of our family. My mom loves her dearly. I would recommend this company to anybody who is looking for in home quality care and with a strong commitment to taking care of loved ones.
