I had reached out regarding repairing a Viking freezer. They sent Omar a “luxury appliance” specialist, but in retrospect I wish they just let me know they were not familiar with repairing Viking appliances. Omar was personable but he ended up changing out the freezer control board with a part he had in his vehicle that he said was Viking made. The part ended up failing two days later and he had to come out again and the freezer was still not functioning. We had to call a different company and the compressor needed to be changed. However, what was most problematic was that in the process of all this, the part of the freezer that drains water was broken and that required an additional fix of 1700 dollars, which could have been totally avoided if they just said they were not familiar with Viking appliances.

Hello Kalvin, as you may recall, Omar initially came out to diagnose your freezer and determined the problem was a bad inverter board because he had the correct voltage going to the inverter board and the compressor wasn’t turning on. Omar installed an inverter board and the compressor turned on and started cooling. When the issue persisted, he returned he determined the compressor was the cause of the problem. Omar reviewed your owners manual book and he advised you that the compressor was covered under Viking’s manufacturer warranty. As a courtesy, we refunded you for the inverter board, leaving you responsible only for the original service call and labor charges. We made these adjustments to ensure you were not paying for a part that did not resolve the issue. We strive to be transparent and fair with every customer, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify what took place. Omar was at my house at the time we had discussed. He was very nice and friendly, and explained things thoroughly. He answered all questions and was very knowledgeable. He fixed three different appliances in about two hours total. His prices were great, and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend him.
