Had to contact them 3 times - 17 Sep and 25 Sep and 30 Sep - to try and get them to take my $2400.00 order. Their excuse, "You went to junk mail". When I told them how upset I was and that I would appreciate an apology, Vince said, "Ma'am, we don't need your business." So, I took him at his word. My feeling is that they are too disorganised to get the job done, or too up-themselves to care about new customers. Either way not a company I want to deal with.

We can now explain the actual reason we previously told you that we would prefer not to take your business. All call are recorded as you are aware.
First, we are not sure where the $2,400 order you referenced came from. Your initial call was regarding pricing for a fireplace cleaning and options for gas logs. You later called back stating that you had written down the wrong pricing in your notes and needed to discuss it with your husband. The pricing difference you mentioned at that time was $49.
The issue that ultimately led to our decision was not the $49 difference.
You subsequently contacted our office upset because you had not received a response to an email you sent. We later determined that your email had gone into our spam folder, which is why our office never saw it and did not respond. We explained this to you, but rather than simply discussing the situation with our staff, the conversation became confrontational.
You raised your voice at our office staff, spoke over them, and repeatedly attempted to tell our employees how they should be doing their jobs. You also continued to insist that we had received your email after our staff explained that we had not. At that point, I needed to personally step into the conversation and end the call because of the way our employees were being treated.
If you did not receive a response from us, there were several ways the situation could have been handled. A simple phone call asking about the status of your email would have allowed us to investigate the issue. Unfortunately, the conversation instead became hostile toward our staff.
You mentioned to our staff that you are from New Zealand and that people do not conduct business this way there. We respect that different countries and cultures may have different expectations when conducting business. However, this is our company, operating in the United States, and we have the right to decide who we are comfortable doing business with.
We have been serving the Chicagoland area for more than 30 years, and we expect our employees to be treated with the same respect that we expect them to show our customers.
We simply do not believe that this is a good customer/company relationship moving forward, and therefore we have decided not to provide further services.
We wish you the best in finding another company to complete the work you are looking to have done.

Fantastic team - came in and completely rebuilt our chimney and added a new liner. Noted a few roofing concerns along the way. Price was fair and did not change along the way. Cleaned up spectacularly. Highly recommend!

Vince came out to replace my glass. Went above and beyond - cleaned the fireplace out - re organized the logs (gas) and gave me insight on how to clean the glass and proper maintenance that I can do.

Vince and Carlos were fantastic and respectful! I had damage to my chimney due to high winds. They evaluated my situation and offered me various options for me to consider. In the end they temporarily repaired the damage and will be back soon with other parts they require for a perminate solution. I found their pricing to be of value and reasonable.
I highly recommend their service, focus on safety, and appreciate their expertise.
