My experience was not great. I was visibly shaken and nervous in my consultation and he could not have cared less. He had an annoying smirk on his face the whole time. I have metlife through work. Not only did he make me wait 2 months just for a consultation, despite no wait times being part of the agreement, but he would not even look at the stack of paperwork I brought with me to the consult to see if he could help with my case. He spent only 10 minutes with me and said I needed to put the papers in pdf form, fill out paper work and pay $600 in fees up front before he'd even read a word. He was stuck on one of my issues and would not listen to the rest of my issues. I knew I was supposed to have 20 free hours, but he stated I only had 8, he did not like to do payment plans, and would just withdraw from my case once I hit 8 hours. I left feeling worse than when I went in, and now I have wasted 2 months that I could have already had someone who cared working on my case. Lesson learned. Definitely do not use him for family law, especially if you are a woman. His body language said he did not like women.

Ms. Hughes, thank you for your review of your experience. In your particular consultation, our firm did not have a sooner availability to consult on your case. At the time of you scheduling we did advise the option for your to schedule with a different participating MetLife firm, due to the lengthy wait time. You chose to wait. In many times for specific cases to move forward with what the potential client is request there has to be significant upfront recitable evidence. It was in Mr. Hamm's legal opinion that your case did not obtain sufficient evidence at the time of your appointment. In regards to the $600.00 request, this is an expense deposit that is held in a trust account and only used for court filing expenses if you decided to move forward with your case representation. A refund would have been issued to you if the funds were not used in full. The request to complete our new client paperwork and transfer all case documents to PDF is a standard request by most attorney offices. Our firm handles electronic documentation and we have found this is the most beneficial for client management, if you had wished our office to scan and organize your files it would have used hours of your legal benefits. In regards to the specific MetLife coverage. As a participating firm we can only advise on what MetLife provides as your coverage. In this type of case MetLife responded with coverage of the 1st 8 hours of attorney time. If at the time your case superseded the 8 hours our firm would offer to continue representation at a discount hourly rate. At that time if you had wished to stop representation due to funds, our firm would have withdrawn.
Finally, Mr. Hamm does not show favoritism to gender or personal self identification. He has many clients of all walks of life, and strives to provide unbiased legal advise. We apologize if he seemed uncaring, however it is our experience that the best legal guidance needs to stay unbiased. Thank you for you taking the time to provide your review.
