Coachlight Chimney & Fireplace LLC

My family recently purchased a home in Oakland County and with it came several fire places and a lack of history or knowledge of their condition. John from Coachlight came out and did a full inspection of the fireplaces we were hoping to utilize. He was very thorough and explained everything along the way. We greatly appreciate the services and he and Melissa provide and would highly recommend them to anyone in the Oakland County area!

John did a wonderful job fixing the top of our chimney with a stainless steel cover. He was on time and explained everything, as well as took before and after pictures.

From my initial phone call to schedule the appointment all the way through the inspection and sweep, my experience with Coachlight Chimney & Fireplace LLC was exceptional. John handled the service and proved to be as honest as they come. Before jumping into any work, he thoroughly inspected my chimneys to make sure they actually needed to be cleaned, saving me money right off the bat. He took his time to explain how the entire system works and gave me great advice on best practices for operating and maintaining it safely. It is rare to find a business that prioritizes integrity and customer education over making a quick buck. I genuinely wish all businesses were run like this.

John and Melissa were awesome to work with! I called to schedule a chimney sweep, and they were able to come out the very next day. They were even willing to work with me after I let them know there had recently been a wasp nest in the chimney that had been sprayed! We ultimately weren’t able to have the chimney swept because John discovered some bigger issues, but I’m incredibly grateful he did. Before finding the problem, he was informative, friendly, and took the time to explain everything to me without ever trying to sell me services I didn’t need. I knew very little about chimneys or what to expect, and I felt completely comfortable having Coachlight help us through it. Most importantly, John identified a major issue that could have potentially resulted in a structure fire. So even though we didn’t get the sweep we originally called for, I’m VERY glad we had them come out! We’ll absolutely be using Coachlight when needed once the necessary repairs are taken care of. Highly recommend!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional ! After a poor experience with a previous company—whose poorly installed cover blew off on a windy day, landed next to my patio table, and cracked a patio stone—my standards for a replacement were incredibly high. I researched industry best practices and interviewed several chimney cover companies before finding John and Melissa. Coachlight Chimney did an exceptional job replacing our custom-built chimney cover. They immediately stood out from the competition. John is certified with the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). His thorough breakdown of how the cover would be custom-built and personally installed gave me complete peace of mind. The entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. Melissa provided excellent communication and smooth coordination from the office, while John’s expertise gave me confidence that the final product was high-quality, long-lasting, and securely attached.

Great people to work with!

If you’re looking for top-tier service, look no further than Coachlight Chimney & Fireplace. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Melissa and John were incredibly responsive and quick to reply to both emails and texts, and always clear and helpful in their communication. The entire process was seamless. John arrived when he said he would, which is rare these days, and immediately demonstrated a high level of professionalism and expertise. He took the time to explain everything, offered honest, knowledgeable advice, and provided a quote that came in well below what I was expecting to pay—without sacrificing quality. From communication and transparency to workmanship and overall professionalism, they exceeded expectations across the board. The quality of the work speaks for itself. They’ve absolutely earned a 5-star review. Do not hesitate to contact Coachlight Chimney & Fireplace for your needs

I don’t have a chimney so my review of Coachlight is based on the character of the owner, John. Today, I went straight into a snow bank on the corner of Gunn and Orion. Triple A was going to be 3 hours and I was prepared to wait since everyone was passing me without stopping. Then, John stopped and offered help. He worked on pushing out my car, then grabbed a shovel, then continued to work on pushing it out (with no gloves on in the freezing weather) until my car was pushed out of the bank. If you are considering who to hire, I can tell you that John is an incredible person.

Used Coachlight for a chimney and fireplace inspection on a recent home purchase. John was very knowledgeable and honest in helping me understand safety and correct maintenance. Will be using this company for all our future needs!

Booking with Melissa was easy and smooth with great communication. John was right on-time, super friendly, thorough, and polite. I will definitely be recommending them to friends/family!
