great care was given to my Rottweiler who was limping. Results of x-rays showed part of right rear leg bone was gone and what was left was very thin. after a lot of discussion with various vets in the practice a right rear leg amputation was the only option. I had all my questions thoughtfully answered. On the day of surgery Dr. Vick came in to assist Dr. Murray on his day off. Josh, the vet tech whom I have known for a long time from another practice was the monitoring tech. I felt a little easier knowing someone I had trust in was going in with my Baby. The incision site looks impeccable. I was prepared for the first night as I was told the first 48 hours would be painful. By day 3 she was supporting her own weight although wobbly, but enough to have a stool. I am so thankful for this practice and their willingness to work together. I truly have a team behind all of my babies. Three of my four have needed surgery this year and the fourth is no less medically troublesome!

Dr. James Vick is the most informed and compassionate veterinarian I have ever had. This is saying a lot because I am 67 years old and have had dogs and cats my whole life. He really listens and gives you the attention you need because he understands you know your animals better than anyone. I feel very lucky to have him caring for my animals!

We bring our two dogs and three cats here, and they’ve always been kind and welcoming. They see us right away — no long waits — and even when there was a mix-up with our appointment times, they got us in without any hassle. We are from Florida and just on vacation in Blue Ridge when our dog needed veterinary care. We asked ChatGBT for a recommended vet which is how we found Cohutta Animal Clinic. Tricia answered the phone promptly and got us an appointment that same afternoon. The doctor was quick to see us and treat our dog. The price to be seen along with the medication was very reasonable. They did not take advantage of the situation knowing we weren’t from around town and did not try to nickel & dime us for any unrelated services. It was exactly how you would hope a vet visit would go every time. Friendly helpful staff that are competent & love animals. Nacho (our dog) is feeling all better! Thanks for caring for our fur baby! 🥰
