My dog Mochi is a 4 year old Border Collie/ Blue Heeler mix. He did a 4 week board and train with Companion Canine. He has every problem you can think of - bite risk, hates new people, places and things. He doesn’t like when people bend down to pick things up off the floor, he hates bugs that fly, he hates bikes, joggers and anything that moves. We had been through multiple trainers before we ended up finding Companion Canine. We tried everything, vibrating collar, spray bottle, etc. Nothing worked until we found them. They truly changed our lives and my dog’s life. They gave him structure, obedience, freedom from his anxiety and they empowered us, his owners with tools to use to help him navigate life as a dog with anxiety. We no longer live in fear that Mochi will embarrass us in public, or bite someone out of fear. We were able to learn what bothered him so much and work with him through those things to make sure we all stay safe. Unless you have had a dog who is scared of everyone and everything, you may not understand the anxiety associated with hoping you are giving your dog the best life. They have truly helped us give Mochi a better life and helped us make it so we can live with less fear. Mochi is better for it and so are we. We will always go back to them for boarding and training help. They met us with empathy and logic for how to help Mochi. We appreciate them so much!

We sent our two Malamute pups, individually, to the 4 week Companion Canine Board & Training program. We made use of the included follow-up sessions to have our questions answered & to reinforce the training. We met with several of the many knowledgeable & experienced Companion Canine trainers and we are very happy with the services & results! Our dogs are colossal sized & powerful and without the training we would be out of our depth! We’re very grateful to Companion Canine and especially to Gueseppe who has an extraordinary & uncanny ability with both dogs and their owners. My husband & I are now also well trained! We will be using Companion Canine’s boarding services soon & we’re glad to know that our dogs will be wonderfully taken care of & with staff they recognize. We highly recommend Companion Canine!!

Both of the trainers I got to work with were absolutely amazing!! Seriously save the relation ship I have with my rescue and she now listens way better because I know how to communicate with her! Her reactivity is gone and no more accidents in the house! Thank you guys so much!!!

We had a great experience with this board and train program. Our dog went from pulling on the leash and having very little self-control to reliably holding a sit, down and staying on place—such a big improvement. Also, he has the best heel. The verbal commands they teach are so user friendly as well. The trainers are wonderful and clearly very skilled. We felt completely comfortable leaving him in their care, which says a lot. Communication throughout the process was excellent, with regular updates that gave us peace of mind. Highly recommend to anyone looking for real results with caring, professional trainers.

We adopted a rescue dog with some Belgian Malinois in him—about a year and a half old. He had previously been adopted and returned due to behavior issues, and while we could see how smart he was, we also knew he was going to need proper training. After an extensive search in the area, we chose Companion Canine—and it was absolutely the right decision. We worked one-on-one with Tiffany for 8 weeks, and Tisha and I couldn’t be happier with the results. We genuinely looked forward to every session. Tiffany was incredible—not just in training Toby, but in teaching us how to work with him, communicate clearly, and build that connection. And yes… a little therapy along the way didn’t hurt either. Since completing the one-on-one sessions, we’ve also attended group classes and pack walks. The alumni group sessions are a great way to reinforce everything you’ve learned, and the pack walks are such a rewarding experience for both you and your dog. We are so glad we chose Companion Canine and would highly recommend their entire team and training philosophy to anyone looking to build a strong, lasting bond with their dog.

We started training our golden retriever puppy with Companion Canine when she was about four months old, and we’ve been so impressed with their clear, straightforward approach. We came in with specific goals for our dog, and they truly listened, creating a plan tailored to our needs using real-world scenarios. Honestly, we needed the training just as much as our puppy did. The sessions were easy to follow, and it felt very manageable to come home and practice what we learned. More recently, we enrolled our pup in their board-and-train program while we were on vacation. When she came home, it was clear her training had been solidified. We’re amazed at what she’s able to do now and couldn’t be happier with the results.
We started working with Gueseppe in December of 2025 after our almost 2 year old Aussie, Jett had several instances of almost backing out of her harness and into traffic while walking downtown. She was also very uneasy during all of her walks and endlessly scanned her entire surroundings. It was physically and emotionally exhausting for all of us. The phone consultation was fantastic. Gueseppe asked us a series of questions about her training to date, what we thought was causing her to be nervous and what we wanted to get out of training. We want to be able to travel with her and ensure her safety, was our ultimate goal. We enrolled in the 2-month package with Jett. She was reluctant to enter the building and Gueseppe got to see first hand what a mini Jett panic attack looked like. Our first session was focused on motivation, conditioning and rewarding the behavior we expected her to do. Training with a slip collar made a huge & positive difference in making sure our communication was clear up and down the leash. We used the agility equipment to help her overcome fears of walking on different surfaces. Each week, we got homework to build on the previous learnings and started to see how putting her into obedience brought Jett comfort. We started to see a new spring in her step. By the third session we had already started to see her make breakthroughs in confidence, clarity and calmness when arriving to school. This was when we started working with Tiffany, who was wonderful. She spent a lot of time training me on how to be clear in my communication without bending down and becoming tangled up in the leash. The training of the human gave me so much insight into how I was inadvertently reinforcing the feeling of panic for Jett and I've learned how to dial it way back. I could see and feel Jett's emotional growth. I think she also could feel me getting more relaxed. The major growth day was the day we did a walk downtown with her and Tiffany walked with us as coach. We literally faced every situation that had caused Jett and I to panic in the past. When we got back to the school, we were all so proud of Jett. At our last class, Gueseppe joined us and Jett was happy to show him everything she had learned. Jett has graduated now and we are continuing our work with pack walks, alumni training days and taking her out into situations that we would normally have shied away from. The bonding we've experienced with Jett has been an incredible gift. She used to drool (she gets carsick) at the idea of getting into the car. She now gets excited and puts her paws up so she can be lifted in. Long story short. This training was the best money we have ever spent on any dog training course. We have a small and mighty toolbox to ensure that we are successful in all situations. We have a stronger bond with our pup and our older Aussie is enjoying going on walks with her now. My confidence is much stronger and the gratitude we feel for Companion Canine coming to Jacksonville, OR is immerse.

Highly recommend Companion Canine! We did 8 private training sessions for our 8yo reactive Aussie mix. We started with a foundation of basic obedience and then built onto those skills to address the reactivity. We’ve tried other dog trainers in the past with no luck. I am so thankful we can finally take Murphy on walks with other dogs nearby! He’s still a work in progress but SO much better than he was when we started. Now that we’ve wrapped up private training we continue to practice at home, but we especially love the group pack walks and group alumni classes that Companion Canine provides. The team is very friendly and knowledgeable!
