I can’t say enough good things about this firm. I was in a situation I never thought I would be in and was stressed looking for the best lawyer I could find. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. I called with a very simple question: does the firm accept walk-ins or appointments for an in-person consultation? The person who needs assistance does not speak English, so a translator would accompany them. I was not asking for legal advice over the phone—just trying to find out whether an appointment could be made. Apparently, even answering that question was too much to ask. The gentleman on the phone repeatedly took an unusually long time to respond to very simple questions, only to say, “We can’t help you,” without any explanation whatsoever. When I tried to clarify what that meant or ask whether there was an appointment process, he simply repeated the same response and hung up. I completely understand that a law firm cannot take every case. That is not the issue. The issue is that basic professional courtesy apparently seems to be optional here. A simple “Unfortunately, we don’t handle this type of matter” or “We’re unable to schedule a consultation” would have taken approximately five seconds and would have been perfectly acceptable. Instead, I was left wondering whether I had called a law firm or accidentally interrupted someone’s lunch break. If this is how potential clients are treated when they are simply trying to ask how to obtain help, I can only imagine how difficult communication would be once someone actually becomes a client. Not being able to help someone is understandable. Refusing to communicate with them respectfully is not.
