Check yelp & trust pilot! ⚠️ TERRIBLE PRODUCT QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE — VERY DISAPPOINTED I would strongly recommend staying away from this business for aftermarket screen replacements. I had my original iPhone screen for 3 YEARS without ever cracking it. I finally had the screen replaced with an aftermarket screen from this business, and immediately started experiencing ghost/phantom touches. I tried to get the screen warrantied, and after they refused to stand behind it, I showed them a video today documenting the phantom-touch issue. (Mind you the video was made within 30 minutes of leaving the store making it a MANUFACTURING DEFECT.) Despite having clear video evidence of the problem the same day I got it “repaired” with no damage they still refused to make it right. Then, on the first day I went back to work after having the screen replaced, the aftermarket screen cracked while I was simply laying on the floor doing my job. I did not drop the phone. Laying on the floor is something I regularly have to do for work, and my original screen survived THREE YEARS of normal use without cracking. The screen was marketed as being the same quality as OEM, but based on my experience, I don’t see how that claim holds up. The screen had phantom-touch problems and then cracked during normal use almost immediately. What makes this even worse is the customer service. I dealt with Brad and Katie, and after trying to warranty the screen, I was left extremely disappointed with how the situation was handled. I paid for a replacement screen expecting a quality product, and when there was clearly a problem with it, I expected the business to stand behind what they sold me. Instead, I’m left paying for another screen after already paying for this one. If you’re considering getting an aftermarket screen here, I’d seriously think twice. My experience was poor product quality, immediate functionality issues, and a warranty experience that left me feeling like the customer was simply on their own once the money was collected. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this business based on my experience. And in response to the accusations and misleading statements being made to save face, I can assure you that this damage was NOT caused by an impact or a drop. The damage was pressure-induced from me lying down with my phone in my pocket. I did not drop it, hit it, or intentionally put it in harm’s way. A replacement screen should be able to withstand reasonable, everyday use. Instead of addressing the actual issue, they’re hiding behind the fact that the screen is made of glass, as if that explains everything. The issue isn’t whether the screen is glass. The issue is the quality of the replacement screen and whether they’re willing to stand behind the product they installed. This is exactly what customer service and warranties are supposed to be for. Absolutely unacceptable. The fact that you’re trying to upsell me a generic screen protector for $40 says everything I need to know about the quality of your replacement screens. If your screens were actually durable and reliable, why would they apparently need that much extra protection just to hold up to everyday use? Instead of standing behind your product and addressing the issue, you’re trying to sell me something else. That’s not customer service; that’s a money grab. Flat-out bad business. You take customers’ money for a replacement screen, then refuse to take accountability when there’s a problem. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Jesus, we're sorry to hear that you're disappointed with your experience. However, we feel it's important to clarify a few details that were omitted from your review. We took the time to review the video-taped footage of your interaction at our front counter and discovered the following: During your visit, you acknowledged that the replacement screen had sustained physical damage from an impact, although you felt the impact was minor and should not have caused the screen to crack. While we understand your perspective, physical damage is not covered under our limited lifetime warranty, regardless of how minor the impact may seem. And unfortunately, because screens are made of glass, it doesn't take much to cause a crack. We also recommended purchasing a screen protector at the time of your repair to help protect your new screen, but you declined. We take concerns about product quality and functionality seriously, including reports of phantom touches. However, a screen that has sustained physical damage is not eligible for a warranty replacement. We stand behind our workmanship and our warranty commitments, but we must apply those warranty terms consistently and fairly to all customers. We appreciate your business and regret that we were unable to reach a resolution that met your expectations. — CPR Cell Phone Repair Elgin

I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment, but they failed to get to work promptly and later refused to release my device unless I paid an after-hours fee—even though my appointment window technically gave them enough time before closing. After 15 minutes of arguing, they finally agreed to "just try," and my phone was magically ready 15 minutes before closing anyway. This place is an absolute scam, so save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!!

Response from the owner · a month ago

We take accusations like this seriously, and we want to correct the record. Our records show that your device was repaired on July 14, 2026, and the repair was completed within approximately one hour. We also want to be very clear that CPR Cell Phone Repair – Elgin does not have an “after-hours fee,” and no such fee was charged or requested in connection with your repair. We certainly understand that a customer may be unhappy with an interaction or experience, but describing our business as a “scam” based on claims that do not match our records is both inaccurate and unfair to our team. We have proudly served customers in the Elgin community by providing professional device repair services, and we stand behind the work we performed in this case.
