Customers report that Cruz Custom Stucco & Plastering provides clear quotes, competitive pricing, and efficient execution for stucco, plastering, and retaining wall projects. Recurring themes include friendly communication, professional cleanup, and accurate color matching for existing structures. However, low-star reviews allege that the owner fails to manage subcontracted crews, resulting in unresolved quality issues like inconsistent grout colors and a lack of follow-up on completed work.

Their quote was really clear on what would be included in the service. They worked quickly and efficiently and did a wonderful job of matching the color of the existing stucco. The owner was friendly, communicative and clear and the crew were friendly and cleaned up very well after the job. If I have stucco needs in the future I will definitely call this team back. Thank you for the beautiful and more fire proof house!
Cruz Custom Stucco did a great job on our commercial building in Colorado City. We have a fitted log building that we wanted to be covered over and stuccoed. They did a great job, fast and cleaned up the area very nicely! We had them paint the trim and really like how they built out around the windows to make everything match! Highly recommend these guys!!
We have a custom home and Cruz Custom Stucco did an excellent job finishing our home. They were patient with my decision on color choices, they handled themselves professionally, and the finished product was excellent. We had some damage in a small area (caused by other construction work) and they were very responsive, patching it up for us free of charge.
We used Alan and his company to stucco our new home and we were totally impressed with their craftsmanship and great service. From working with Alan on colors and design to the completion. His crew were extremely efficient and they kept their work area clean . Would hire them again .
I read a recent negative review of Alan's team and the work they did on his house. I can assure you that ANY issues I had after the work was completed was taken care of quickly and professionally. They did our ENTIRE HOUSE and even stuccoed retaining walls in the front and back of our house along with the foundation itself to match the whole house. Absolutely phenomenal work to say the least. Some people, including myself are perfectionists and expect that everything will be 100% exact all the time. This is an unrealistic expectation IMO and at the end of the day. When the issues the other customer settles in and fades. I'd bet the grout will all be pretty even in color. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure the only person that notices is the homeowner. I get it, it's a lot of money to spend. Having reasonable expectations will also keep your stress level down. Regarding how he pays his crew. That's honestly nobody's business. I will gladly hire Alan and his team to do anything in their specialty at my house again. As a matter of fact, I actually do have some work for them which they'll be hired for. He's a solid businessman who's been in the field for years and years. Can't please everyone and I don't recommend you start trying. Some people are never happy.
STOP spending hours and days of your life having multiple companies come out for your project estimate. You only have to make one phone call and talk with Alan Ruiz (the owner) and all your concerns and frustrations will go away!! We had no less than 7 bids for our job. A couple lower than his but many over. The reason we chose Cruz Stucco is because he knows the right answers to the questions. Has a 2 yr warranty on his work and will absolutely NOT do stucco over siding. Make no mistake about it. This is something you want to have a professional crew handle and these guys are the best I’ve seen. The crew, led by Fabian has many years of experience and it shows when the job is completed. Should you desire to have the best looking house in the neighborhood, then ditch that ugly siding and wrap your house in cement and stucco! We’ve already noticed a dramatic change in sound levels from outside and also we can leave our windows open for a breeze in the house even on an 85 degree day. The inside temp didn’t go over 71!!!! Stop thinking about it and make it happen. You won’t be sorry you’ve made the choice to go with stucco for your largest investment or using Cruz Custom Stucco for the work!!! Hands down the best in the business!!
I've hired Alan for two major projects. The first was a stucco project for a new build home in the mountains. His bid was significantly less then all the others and they did a great job, worked well with my other contractors etc.
I later invited him back to build a stone retaining wall which they did quickly and for a reasonable price.
Great work all around!
Alan Cruz is the WORST person to hire. Alan will sell you the world. He says his skills are great and that he will be managing the project, but the truth is the complete opposite. Alan subs out the work to “his guys” who he pays a piece rate to and he DOES NOT manage his guys. To this day, I still have three different color grouts on my stone that Alan refuses to even come look at. He sent “his guys” to make numerous other repairs/corrections and does not even walk after they make the repairs. I watched Alan pay them cash in front of my house on one of these “repairs days” and hop back in his truck and drive away. I called him if he wanted to walk to make sure they did things right, he said “you can see it, did the do it right?”. Alan is present on the days he is picking up money from you, but all of the other work days he is missing in action. He hit my gate, ran over one of my trees, I showed him that the tire treads on the ground match his truck exactly, and he said “that could have been anyone”, even though it was in my back yard where only him and I drive and it do not match my truck tires. I let “his guys” borrow my trailer so the could have all of the old windows and doors that we replaced, they drove it on a toll road and said nothing about it. Many stones were installed crooked. Still to this day I have crooked stone, and the precast trim around the doors and windows. It is terrible! One day I drove up and seen the stone next to the front door was all crooked, Alan happened to be there because it was a “Money Pick Up Day”, I said Alan, the stone is crooked, and bad”, he said, “do you want me to the guys fix it?”, I said, what do you think? They finished for the day, and did not fix the stone. Alan has been a nightmare to work with. I paid him almost $80,000 in cash, so that helped him and “his guys” out on taxes for sure, but Alan does not manage his projects, does not do things the right way, and does just enough to get the job to a point he can try to sell as complete. Do not hire this guy.
Top notch! Alan and his team did a fantastic job on our home. Completely stripped the old siding and replaced it with a base coat of cement and an acrylic top coat. The project came together without a hitch. Pricing was very competitive and the workmanship was/is excellent. The timeline that Alan quoted me was right on. I highly recommend Cruz Custom Stucco & Plastering!!
I hired Cruz Stucco to finish my entire house, I cannot speak highly enough about Alan and his crew, the speed and accuracy with which they worked was unparalleled. His guys where quick, clean and respectful of our neighbors, I would recommend Cruz Stucco in a heartbeat. Two thumbs up for professionalism and speed.
Excellent work. My house looks like new! The crew is friendly, hard working, and paid attention to detail. Alan is professional and detail oriented. Highly recommend them.
