I couldn’t be happier with my new deck. The deck is made from treated wood, features a built in deck and a beautiful wrought iron railing.
From start to finish Deckmaster was extremely professional, we discussed many options including repair of old deck, but my decision was a new deck. Deck master (Wes), kept to the original quote and delivered top notch craftsmanship throughout. His crew’s attention to detail was obvious.
I would absolutely recommend Deckmaster to anyone needing to upgrade or build a new deck
11/24, Deckmaster Fine Decks just completed a deck for us. Weston was quite knowledgeable and approachable. It is as though we added a room extension onto our home. Deck constructors Josue and Miguel were respectful, skilled and industrious. Great work start to finish.

After a few years of living with this deck I'm compelled to finally write a review. This had to be the worst experience I've ever had with a company. Their pictures paint a very different level of quality than what I received. Angles were cut with a jig saw held in hand so no two angles are the same. The deck was not set at the right height and our door would not open. I had to plane down the joints in front creating a dish for the door swing out. Plus deck ended up sloping toward the house.
The decking system leaves a lot to be desired. No repairs can be made without destroying the board and the planks slide over time, opening gaps. Walking on the deck is very noisy, crunching and creaking.
My advice, spend a little more elsewhere and get a quality product.
Yes your company did the work. The crew were family members. The father, who was doing the 'fine' work, had been a cement mason which showed in his lack of woodworking skills.
I kicked them off the job and finished it myself. It wasn't until the job was near complete that the bigger problems became apparent.
Hopefully you got rid of that crew and have better craftsmen.

Hi KS,
I am sorry you had a bad experience but I am very confused. The pictures do not look anything like our work and I have never seen the deck in question. Nothing about it looks like the way we do things and your description of the tools used sounds very amateurish. I would never have approved the work on any project with the poor quality in the pictures.
If we did build this deck, I would have been happy to address these issues and correct them as needed.

Hi KS - Your response is even more confusing. We have never had a crew kicked off an incomplete project. We have never had a foreman who had previously been a mason. We used to have several members of a family on our teams but the patriarch tragically died of Covid several years ago.
If there is any way we can help you, please just email me a copy of your contract. I cannot help if you keep the project a secret from us.
Note that there are other companies who use Deckmaster in their name. At this point you are describing a project that I am not familiar with. Our company is small and we take pride in resolving issues as they arise. i cannot imagine why you were so unhappy over the years and never called to express your concerns.

We had a 1260 sq. ft. redwood deck that was 30+ years old, it had become unsafe, we had to do something fast! We contacted Weston at Deckmaster and explained the situation. Weston came right out, made an evaluation and we decided that the only thing that could be done is a complete replacement. They squeezed us into their schedule and the guys came out to dismantle the old deck right away. While removing the old deck they discovered a considerable amount of rot where the old deck was incorrectly attached to the house. They were able to remove and replace the damage and fixed like new and assured us we would not have that problem again.
We decided to go with Zuri rather than redwood, getting to old to maintain a wood deck like it should be. The guys who built the deck were a joy to work with, very good at what they do. The deck turned out to be more than we imagined. Highly recommended. J. E.

When I decided it was time to do a deck, deckmaster was the first group i i spoke to. I shopped around to other contractors even going so far as starting the engineering work with someone else. It quickly became apparent that deckmaster was the clear best choice for getting a deck done in Sonoma county.
What set Weston and his team apart from EVERYONE was their clear upfront pricing, their attention to detail, and the fact that they had a good plan for the job from beginning to end. Not only that, but this deck went up FAST with no inconvenience to me as a homeowner!
The deck of course is beautiful and full of little details that really put this project beyond my expectations in terms of excellent excellent quality work.
I have had numerous jobs done with contractors both at home and in my line of work, and I have never worked with a group as good as deckmaster. I can't recommend them enough. Start to finish Deckmasters replaced my old deck with a beautiful new one in 2 weeks! The workers were very professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. I would highly recommend Deckmasters to anyone in need of a new deck.

Weston and his crew of three exceeded our expectations from the moment of our first contact throughout the entire building process and to our daily enjoyment of our beautiful deck today. In fact it was a true joy. The crew talked to us every day asking us questions about what we’d like about this or that and making good suggestions about the smallest of details. Weston and his crew explained how the slightly more expensive Zuri deck boards would save us hours of annual care and maintenance costs, would outlast us (OK, we’re in our 70’s) and provide a more beautiful deck. Our deck has the quality of fine workmanship and design that you expect of finish carpentry and woodworking. His patented fastening devices using screws are invisible and protected from the elements. The cost came out as budgeted and on time. The crew was on the job every day until completion. There was one small change order they got approved by us in advance and in writing.
