Communicated with Derrick on the phone and set up a time and place to meet. The morning of we rented a Uhaul and got confirmation that they would arrive in the afternoon. We waited over 3 hours and messaged/called them repeatedly. No answer. They just ghosted us. Do not recommend them at all.

If you’re looking for a moving team that’s fast, professional, and knows how to make magic happen, Buff’s Moving Labor is it! Our mover showed up 15 minutes early, greeted us with a warm smile, and somehow managed to "Tetris" all our stuff into a U-Haul that I was sure was too small. But with their expertise, we had everything loaded up in less than an hour! We had extra time to spare, thanks to Buff’s, and the whole process was so smooth it was actually fun. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for the best, most budget-friendly, and agile moving service around!

I've used Buff Moving Labor 2 times now and it's been a mixed bag. The first time was June 2023 and everything went great. Derrick and two other movers packed me up and moved it into a storage unit for the time being. Aside from some scuffs on a table or 2 and a couple small rips on the couch, it wasn't bad. Everything was completed within a reasonable time frame that day. Easily a 4 or 5 star experience. This 2nd time was the complete opposite. Only 2 movers showed up to what was a much larger move than last time, I was told there would be 3. - I had them pack up my kitchen which was, efficient, at best. Many things that were breakable were just thrown into a box but thankfully nothing actually shattered. - I requested and confirmed they would bring a TV box but that was forgotten. I had to run to the store mid move for it. - I used their labor only service, so no truck. I made sure that they would be bringing all other equipment like dollies, furniture pads, straps, etc. The movers didn't bring any of that. I had a wagon I use for groceries so they used that along with a skateboard one guy had. This made the process SLOW. I also don't know what was delaying them half the time. They would take some boxes or furniture to the truck and I wouldn't see them back in my apartment for 15-20+ mins. Definitely some long smoke breaks in there, I could smell it. At least their lunch was only about 30 mins. - The 2 person wagon/skateboard combo took them about 5-6 hours for a 1 bedroom apartment just to load up the truck. - I informed them about some more fragile furniture too. Last time they helped me, they made sure to wrap some of the furniture and took good care of my stuff. This time, all 5 of my TV console's legs broke off, my desk was completely ripped off the file cabinet, my white side tables were placed into the truck, top down, and slid in along the gritty floor, along with some other random scrapes on furniture. Some things were just placed in the most questionable places, my printer was put in the very back on the floor of the truck. - By the time they started moving into my new apartment, it was about 3:30pm. Slow going again. A few other guys including Derrick showed up around 5:00 to finish the process thankfully. I brought up these concerns to Derrick when it came time to pay. I received quick apologies about the long breaks, half hazard packing/loading, damaged furniture, and forgetting the TV box/necessary moving resources. When I asked why I only had 2 movers, he said it was a "busy day" as if it was a valid excuse. I didn't get the feeling he genuinely cared about these issues and was just ready to get paid and leave. All in all, if they were properly equipped and had the right resources/manpower, it should have been a quick move with maybe a few slightly damaged things. Instead, it was a stressful and pricey 9-10 hour ordeal where I started helping them move some things to speed it up. Keep in mind, they don't have any moving contracts either so if you have a bad experience or things break, you're a bit sol. I would go elsewhere and find a professional company with contracts even if it costs more. They clearly have to work out some growing pains.

Derrick at Buffs Moving was wonderful. I had some large heavy furniture that needed to be moved and they made the job look easy. Everything was moved professionally and nothing was damaged at all. Derrick is super nice. I will definitely use them again.
