I found my magical place at Desert Rose Ranch…! After a fall sixty years ago, a patient and caring trainer, Sara, brought me back to enjoy every one of my rides! I can’t wait, from week to week, to get back in the saddle. Thank you Sara and Hanna for your caring and patience with me!

We scheduled a horseback riding lesson with Desert Rose Ranch for one week from the day we spoke to Desert Rose Ranch to schedule the lesson, who confidently confirmed the date and time was good. Next, we received a call from Desert Rose Ranch on Tuesday afternoon the following week whereby we were asked if we could reschedule our Wednesday morning lesson due to there suddenly being too many riders who were apparently also scheduled to ride at the same time as us. We patiently responded with a positive response that we would go ahead and accommodate Desert Rose Ranch's request and reschedule our lesson, despite the inconvenience and burden upon us to reschedule our other important events for that day. We rescheduled our lesson with Desert Rose Ranch for Thursday morning instead. On Thursday morning, the day of our rescheduled lesson as requested per Desert Rose Ranch, we dressed and made all preparations for our rescheduled lesson. Then, literally within one hour prior to the start of our rescheduled lesson, Desert Rose Ranch texted us informing us that they could no longer accommodate us and once again asked if we would not mind rescheduling our lesson. Even still, Desert Rose Ranch texted us just the late afternoon prior to Thursday morning to confirm our scheduled lesson, to which we replied we confirm. The excuse Desert Rose Ranch provided to us was that there were just too many riders and horses scheduled at the same time as our lesson and haphazardly mentioned that was not ideal. We then replied with reasonable frustration to their text asking Desert Rose Ranch to please explain why they decided to inform us of the need to reschedule, not only for the second time, but also at the very last hour before our lesson was to begin when they had ample time to diligently redress the schedule appropriately ahead of time. Desert Rose Ranch bluntly replied with a canned response stating that all decisions and changes are made based on safety concerns for riders and horses. We completely agree that safety is paramount, however Desert Rose Ranch poorly failed at properly planning and scheduling the riders and horses ahead of time, thereby resulting in last minute, unacceptable corrective measures at the expense of their clients. Once we expressed our disappointment to Desert Rose Ranch, they responded that they will make some changes and that we should go ahead and still show up for our lesson. The preparation and distance alone to travel to Desert Rose Ranch is by no means a simple and effortless undertaking. The question we now ask is Desert Rose Ranch compromising their safety protocols by allowing us to still participate in a now overcrowded ring? By this stage, we then requested to speak to the owner of Desert Rose Ranch. We sent this request at 8:27am. We have received absolutely no response for the remainder of the entire day from neither the owner nor anyone else on behalf of Desert Rose Ranch. Meanwhile, Desert Rose Ranch gladly accepted our prepayment of the lesson in advance of the lesson. It is baffling how Desert Rose Ranch treats its clients in such a despicable and unprofessional manner. We are disgusted with such disrespectful consideration. One can only justifiably consider the question that this poor treatment of their clients possibly extends to the innocent animals in their care.

Desert Rose… First off, what are you thinking? Second, they booked me for Wednesday the previous week and called the day before the lesson saying they were “overbooked” to which we responded to this by saying we could reschedule for Thursday. Then they called me suddenly Thursday morning one hour before the rescheduled lesson , at which point we were already dressed and on the way. Honestly, this is disappointing. At the end of this havoc, they decided to ignore me even after asking the for the owner to respond. What a disgrace. Never come here even if you are desperate. I rarely find myself having to leave negative reviews, but this experience was awful.

My girls 6 & 2 both had an amazing time riding at Desert rose. The trainers are always incredibly patient with them and able to get on their level to help them feel comfortable, have fun, and learn a lot. We appreciated Christian and Hannah working with us this week! Pam, the owner, does an overall amazing job with the entire property and operations.

I finally have the chance to pursue a lifelong dream of horseback riding, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Desert Rose Ranch. DRR came highly recommended by another local ranch, and from my very first visit, I understood why DRR is so highly regarded. I’m impressed by the quality of DRR’s facility, the level of care given to the horses, and the warm, welcoming and positive atmosphere created by Pam (Owner) and her entire staff. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The instructors are top-notch—skilled, patient, and encouraging. I’ve advanced more quickly than I ever imagined possible, and I owe that entirely to the trainers. In addition to riding, both Hannah and Christiane have been instrumental in teaching me proper grooming and horse care. Pam is a true gem. She and her team go above and beyond to ensure each rider feels valued, safe, and capable. Communication is clear, safety is always a priority, and there’s a strong sense of community where they treat you like family. If you’re looking for a place to learn, grow, and fall in love with horses (or rekindle that love), this is it. If you’re looking for a place to board or lease your horse, this is an excellent place to do so.

We’ve been riding at Desert Rose for over 2.5 years & board our horses here as well. We started riding in Wellington, & glad we made the change to DRR. It feels like home, every single person ( worker) feels like FAMILY, as it should feel. There is ALWAYS someone there to help you, trainers readily available. Pam, the owner, is friendly, warm & truly made this place what it is. There’s something for everyone at DRR; between the large ring & all of the different jumps, to the trails, the lush pastures, the duck farm, the pigs & not to forget ALL of the gorgeous & well trained horses at DRR, you ALWAYS have something to look for forward too! Desert Rose Ranch has quickly become our second home- a place where we find peace, joy & a deep connection to nature & our horses. It’s our sanctuary where we spend meaningful time together , & we are so grateful for it. Every morning when my daughter wakes up, it’s one of the first thing she requests ‘Mom, can we go to the barn today?” Even at her age she recognizes how special it is! She’d spend all of her time there if she could (as would I) That says so much about the energy that your place holds…. Thank you for sharing it all with us! ♥️
