Hi,

Long review, but when someone does a terrific job its important to leave a detailed review to help others. I only hire people based on recommendations and reviews, so its fair to pay it forward.

Long story short, my family moved into the city to be closer to work. Covid market was low inventory with huge competition. We ended up getting a new home that was irregular shaped and small. We weren't happy with the layout but there weren't many choices at the time. The original galley kitchen was so small that it wasn't functional for our family. It made our new home unenjoyable and uncomfortable.

We spoke to multiple designers and contractors who told us our only option was to knock out a bedroom to expand our kitchen. They said there was no other way to due this due to space limitations. Even my lifelong friend who is a builder of luxury homes, didn't think it could be done. This was a terrible scenario for us as as losing a bedroom would have decreased the value of our home by 15-20 percent!!!! Also, we practically needed the room for our guests who visit often.

I was recommended Stacey and through her Lin. They come over measured, brainstormed, and went to work on CAD. After many iterations were able to come up with a solution nobody else thought of. They were able to over double the size of our kitchen by creating an open floor plan while saving our bedroom. This was not a simple idea as they had to knock down the kitchen galley wall, carve out and modify existing walls, and create an peninsula in a safe way that didn't interfere with our entrance stairs. Due these obstacles along with our cabinetry and appliance needs, we didn't have a quarter of an inch to spare. This is not hyperbolic, once again, we didn't have even a quarter of an inch to spare.

However Stacey and Lin figured it out, I'm amazed someone could. Not only does our kitchen look beautiful, it feels spacious, and flows beautifully. The price we paid them for the design is one of the biggest bargains I've paid for in my life. The value we would have lost going from three bedrooms to two bedrooms would have messed up our retirement. On top of that, Stacey and Lin also helped us find incredible niche appliances to help fit our small space. People compliment them all the time.

Anyway, we're just appreciative.

Zack

We chose Devon Rose Interior Design to help us reimagine our small kitchen and dining area. Stacy and Lynn really impressed me with their ability to maximize every square inch of the available space.

For the kitchen, they designed sleek modern -style cabinets that extended all the way to the ceiling, providing much-needed extra storage. They suggested an integrated refrigerator and other appliances to create a seamless, built-in look. They also incorporated several clever small-space solutions like a pull-out pantry cabinet, a cutting board over the sink, and under-cabinet lighting.

Throughout both rooms, their choice of light colors, flat front surfaces, and minimal decor gives an airy, open feel that makes the space seem much larger than it actually is. I'm blown away by their talent for space planning and design in tight quarters. Thanks to their brilliant design solutions, my new kitchen and dining room feel efficient yet beautifully appointed. I highly recommend Devon Rose Interior Design for any project.
