DGI Design x Build (Devon Grace Interiors)

As a second time client of DGI, we can honestly say they just keep getting better and better. Quality of design, attention to detail, customer service, all of it. We highly recommend them regularly to our friends and are so proud to show off their work whenever we can.

Working with Devon, Mike, and the whole DGI team to gut renovate and furnish our condo in Chicago was an incredible experience from start to finish. What could have been a very stressful project felt seamless and fun because they handled everything so expertly. They truly listened to the specific wants and needs we requested for our space, stayed on budget, and even kept to the timeline - which feels like a rarity these days. Every time we walk into our home, we still can't believe it's ours. We couldn't recommend DGI more to anyone looking for a talented, organized design firm.

Working with Devon and her exceptionally talented design team, including Michael and Eric, was an excellent experience. We purchased a 20-year-old, 6,000+ square-foot home in Chicago that required a complete renovation and modernization. While we wanted to preserve certain traditional elements of the house, DGI did an outstanding job seamlessly blending traditional and modern design throughout the home. The results are truly beautiful and impressive. From the outset, the entire team demonstrated a clear understanding of our style preferences and budget. They made what could have been an overwhelming project feel well-managed and even enjoyable. DGI’s strong relationships with their trades and vendors are evident in their professionalism, quality of work, and final results. Although we did not engage DGI for interior design services—as we prefer to research and source furniture and artwork ourselves—their renovation work exceeded our expectations. Having renovated several homes, we understand that construction projects often involve unforeseen challenges and delays; however, the project was ultimately completed to our great satisfaction. I would highly recommend DGI for their talent, professionalism, and execution. Our sincere thanks to the entire team!

We had a great experience with DGI on the design of our home build. Devon, Mike, and the rest of the team helped us design the beautiful home we were looking for. They were very helpful in helping us think through aspects of our construction, interacted very well with our GC and helped us manage all the audio, video, technology, and security vendors as well. They were accommodating to all of our asks, being very responsive and patient with lots of opinions from our side. Importantly, they were very mindful of our budget, and unlike other designers, would make us aware if we were above before making a decision. They were able to find beautiful options that made our budget work. We'd highly recommend DGI.

We were so lucky to have the opportunity to work with DGI on the design and remodel of our home. Devon and Mike have created a very special group. Heading into our project, we heard countless horror stories from friends having bad experiences generally with other designers. We, on the other hand, could not have been happier with our experience with DGI. The DGI team met and in most cases blew through our expectations. They were both patient and responsive, they worked with us to fine tune the design to meet our style, they were conscious of our budget, they were creative and they held themselves to a level of professional excellence that made the project fun and exciting. As importantly, the way in which they handled challenges in the project was thoughtful, creative and demonstrated ownership over the project - which ultimately led to great results across the board. We look forward to working with them again.

Our project, in a vintage building, included a complete gut of the kitchen, adding cabinetry in other rooms, updating all electrical and low voltage wiring, adding new lighting and media, and new flooring in several areas. From beginning to the end, the DGI team was superb. They listened to what we wanted, provided excellent options for us to consider, which lead to a wonderful design. Their sub-contractors were ALL fabulous. It was clear that the sub-contractors had worked together before, and this experience made the project go even more smoothly. The communications from the team prior to and during construction and the management of the construction by Eric was excellent. He kept everything moving, let us know of any changes or issues and helped us resolve them. As any renovation project reveals unknown issues that demand attention, Eric and the team were able to work these added additions into the flow of the project with minimal disruption. Importantly, they were able to finish the project within budget. People who have seen the final product have had the most wonderful things to say about it and we couldn’t be happier. And we had a lot of fun throughout.

The entire DGI team was a pleasure to work with. From Devon and Mike down through the entire design and construction teams, we encountered nothing but talented, professional and kind people to help see our project through from start to finish. We worked with DGI for a whole home remodel, including a valuable early assessment to help guide our home search, design and construction. The integration across the team from design to execution was a huge advantage to avoid managing separate teams. And they were able to truly bring a custom vision to life that fits our family. I would highly recommend DGI to anyone needing a top tier partner for home design and build in Chicago or beyond.

I couldn’t recommend DGI more highly. We recently engaged them as both the general contractor and designer for a full home renovation. The end result is beautiful—Devon and her design team are immensely talented and brought a creative vision to life that feels both elevated and livable. One of the biggest advantages of working with DGI was having both design and construction under one roof. As challenges inevitably arose during the renovation, it was a huge relief not to have to play middleman between separate teams. The process felt far more seamless and integrated because of that. We’re so grateful to Devon, Mike, Eric, and the rest of the team for helping us create a home we truly love. We'd absolutely recommend DGI to anyone looking for a thoughtful, full-service approach to renovation.

Devon and her team did a great job with our gut renovation. After interviewing multiple design firms, it was clear that they bring an unmatched level of rigor, organization, and professionalism to a field that often seems full of enthusiasts. Devon and Mike presented us a detailed proposal with estimates for each room, and they stayed within the promised parameters. With our GC (we didn't use them for the construction), they were meticulous in their directions and highly communicative, which made the collaboration pretty seamless. Devon herself has a great sense of style and intuition, and we greatly valued her vision.

Devon, Michael, and the entire team at DGI are AMAZING at what they do. They go up and beyond in every facet of their work. I cannot speak highly enough about what a wonderful organization this is to work with, and would recommend them for any project!
