Hi Melissa, I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing an issue with your phone. If a piece of metal had been lodged or wedged into the display during our original repair, the issue would have been present from the time you picked up the device—not a month later when you returned for a reinspection. The symptoms are more consistent with physical pressure, impact, or misuse of the device. Had a metal piece been present from our original repair, the resulting damage would have been different. Unfortunately, some repair shops may try to discredit other professionals to make themselves look better. We stand behind our workmanship and our knowledge of this trade, and we believe the facts and the 30 years of experience should speak for themselves. Accidental or physical damage is not covered under our warranty. This policy is clearly outlined on the receipt provided at the time your repair was completed. Our 1-year warranty covers manufacturer defects only and does not cover damage resulting from drops, impacts, pressure, bending, or other accidental causes. Based on the symptoms discussed and the condition of the device when you brought it back for reinspection, the black spots and lines appearing on the display are consistent with physical pressure or impact damage rather than a manufacturer defect. This was also explained to you during our in-store conversation before you left. We understand that this may not be the outcome you were hoping for; however, we must apply our warranty policy consistently to all customers. Because the damage is consistent with physical or accidental damage, we are unable to consider this particular issue a warranty claim. If the original display that came on your phone from your original purchase had previously been damaged, it may also indicate that the device has been exposed to conditions that increase the risk of future screen damage. Regardless of where a display is replaced, we strongly recommend taking extra care when handling and storing the device to help prevent similar damage from occurring again.
