Reviewers note that the shop avoids pushing unnecessary services and handles various issues, from exhaust leaks to brake work and body damage, with professional efficiency. However, one recurring criticism involves a customer reporting that an exhaust repair required redoing within six months despite a high initial cost.

For 4th of July period, I had drove up to see my daughter at her university ( Tufts). Upon arriving to Medford on the 1st July my rav4 started making rattling exhaust noise. On 2nd July early morning took the car to get it checked out. The mechanic said give me two hours and he will let me know the status. The issue was fixed and was able to pick the car up within 3 hours of dropping off. I would highly recommend this shop to my friends. The service received was very professional and reasonable.
Great experience, a great mechanic! All work was performed quickly and to my satisfaction. Can’t beat the price compared to a dealership. I trust this shop 100% with my car.

I had a great experience with DM Auto Repair. The owner was incredibly responsive from the start and made the whole process easy and stress-free. I brought my car in to have the muffler checked (it had gotten pretty loud), and they quickly diagnosed the issue and walked me through exactly what was going on.
What I really appreciated was how honest and straightforward they were—no pressure, just clear information so I could make the best decision. They also took the time to check overall performance and make sure everything else was running safely.
You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their work. Highly recommend DM Auto Repair if you’re looking for someone reliable, responsive, and trustworthy.
I've taken my S2000 here probably 5 times over the last few years. DM consistently gets to working on my car the same day I bring it in, even when I haven't called ahead to check availability. The lead guy is friendly and knowledgeable, and he's a good communicator. He's fine calling or texting to answer questions and provide updates. Some shops are stodgy and will only order and install OEM parts, but DM has no problem installing, or working on, custom or aftermarket parts. DM's mechanics have a flexible mindset and are thorough and creative when solving problems. If your vehicle has an issue you weren't aware of, they will tell you. The cost of labor and parts has always been fair. You won't be overcharged, and they won't try to sell you anything you don't need. This is an honest shop, and that's a valuable thing to have. I'll keep coming here for all these reasons. As a side note, I've often noticed enthusiast vehicles here for service. Immaculate 80s Toyota Corollas, Acura Integras, and similar owned by people who clearly care about them trust this shop to care for their classics.

Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Service not listed
I’ve had only good experiences at DM auto for both large and small jobs. They give it to you straight about what work you do and don’t need, the turnaround is fast, and the price is transparent and competitive. It’s nice as a woman to go to a mechanic and not have them screw around with you or try to scam you because they think they can get away with it. The guys at DM auto treat me and my vehicle with respect and professionalism.
Nice staff, quick turnaround, no pushing unnecessary repairs. Everything you want in a mechanic. I’ll continue taking my car here as long as I live in Somerville - and perhaps even after

Took our Hyundai sonata for repair after attempted theft, which meant ignition damage and a broken window. Deverson was communicative and understanding and did really great work with a quick turnaround! Worked with us to keep pricing reasonable. Would highly recommend!!
