The team at Dog Training Elite are amazing! From the moment I called them for information, they have been responsive and easy to work with.
My husband was a 100% disabled vet. When he passed earlier this year, the DTE team has helped me to transition Shadow so that he continues to have a mission and serve. Shadow and I participated in the ALZ today. He even won the best costume contest!
I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I am so impressed with the training my dog and I are getting from JB at Dog Training Elite! After just the first lesson, my dog wasn’t dragging me around like he was taking ME for a walk. We have already learned so much, and I appreciate how JB turns my mistakes into great learning opportunities. He doesn’t just teach my dog; he teaches me how to communicate with my dog and understand what I’m doing wrong .
If you’re looking at the cost and wondering if it’s worth it, I can tell you that so far, it’s worth every penny! We’re still learning, but I’m already seeing progress and feeling more confident. I only wish I had done this sooner! I highly recommend!

I just started training my third dog with Dog Training Elite. JB worked with me to train my Husky-mix when her behavior was so bad that I thought I would have to rehome her. Three years later she is still so obedient that we can take her anywhere dogs are welcome. I am also working with JB to train my goldendoodle to be my service dog, and now JB is training my hound dog. No matter the breed or the behavior issues, I highly recommend hiring DTE to train your dog. JB, Christie and Paige are amazing people and excellent trainers. They dedicate every Saturday holding group training sessions at various locations, rain or shine, all year long. Trust JB and his team, they will work with your dog and love them as much as you do.

JB and Paige are miracle workers! Our 6-month-old golden shepherd is 1 week into her training, and her behavior has improved so much. We decided to go with the platinum package that includes 2 weeks of 8am-4pm camp and unlimited group classes (and several in-home sessions). It’s been a game changer and well worth the investment!

We could not be more grateful for JB and the incredible team at Dog Training Elite Huntsville! Our Boston Terrier is full of personality and loves people and other dogs—a little too much at times! Walks used to be a challenge because he was so excited to meet everyone in sight and had a hard time giving people and dogs their space.Working with JB and his team was a total game-changer. The group classes were especially valuable for us; they provided the exact real-world environment our pup needed to learn focus and restraint around distractions. Now he understands how to stay calm and pass by others respectfully without trying to greet everyone we encounter.JB and his team are standard-bearers for excellent service. They are remarkably caring, patient, and deeply devoted to helping both dogs and their owners succeed. If you are looking for trainers who genuinely care and deliver real, lasting results, look no further than Dog Training Elite Huntsville!

Update: After receiving an email this morning, 10/3, addressed to all clients about lack of responses last week. I feel compelled to add a timeline. Older dog had training on 9/23, incident occurred & phone call made on morning of 9/24. On 10/2 saw trainer playing with his dog at Aldridge Creek Greenway while we were leaving after riding bikes.
To rule out medical issues our older dog had vet visit, extensive labs, thyroid test and after speaking with Vet her issue is resource guarding myself & husband. She is now & will remain a very healthy only dog. I guess my take away is do consults with multiple trainers before choosing one.
We decided on Dog Training Elite for training our older dog who had shown reactive to a puppy we recently brought home. Our older did wonderful with training and we could let both be free roaming with supervision. We had her to the point we could train, play ball with both of them, and she would chase him & he would chase her. Our main concern in the beginning when we contacted them was her aggressive lunging on the 3rd day we had him. The training was to go back to the basics. She is smart and did well for most of them. However, the 4th week of having the puppy as I was leaving to take her with me in the car the little one decided her leash needed to be carried and she snapped. She grabbed him by the neck and would not let go. My husband had to pry her jaw open to let him go. It was the most traumatic experience I have been through. The sound of him screaming while she held on was unreal. I do not think I will ever get that out of my mind. Thankfully he was not hurt. As traumatic as it had been he was not wounded. My main complaint with the service was after each visit I was told by JB that if anything ever came up no matter the time call the cell number on his card. I called, got an answering service, hung up, received a text message which I responded to and explained that the older dog attacked the puppy. The response was someone from the service would get back to me. No call came. I eventually called the office and spoke with a woman who apologized and said she would speak with JB. No call, no follow up, nothing but radio silence. In the best interest of the puppy he went home to the breeder. I am still traumatized by this experience, and my older dog does nothing but lay around. This is an expensive service that does not follow up, lacks concern about incidents you hire them to hopefully prevent. Some may think I should not have gotten a puppy. But, she has been in doggy day care for 2 years and played well with all dogs she encountered. I needed help with reactive behavior and that is where the training failed.

Hi Maureen,
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about the distressing experience you went through during this incident, and we are relieved that the puppy was not physically injured. Safety is always our highest priority. To help clarify for prospective clients reading this, severe resource guarding and clamping onto another dog is classified as behavioral aggression rather than mild dog reactivity. While basic obedience and reactivity training build solid foundations, severe aggression involves unpredictable triggers—such as high-value items like leashes or food—that require ongoing, strict environmental management alongside training. Regarding communication, we sincerely apologize for any frustration during such a stressful moment. As outlined in our client onboarding paperwork, after-hours emergency protocols require sending a direct text message to our emergency mobile line so our trainers receive instant notification alerts, rather than calling the main office answering service. That said, we regret any gap in follow-up during office hours, and we are actively reviewing our message routing workflows to ensure seamless communication moving forward. We appreciate the hard work you put into Annie's foundation training and wish you and your family all the best.

JB and his team at Dog Training Elite Huntsville have been incredible. We brought our Husky mix to them at three months old, and now at seven months the transformation has been astounding. Their patience, clear communication, and nonjudgmental approach made all the difference. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs and the owners. Our pup is more confident, more focused, and listens better than we ever expected at this age. Highly recommend JB and his team — truly fantastic people doing exceptional work.
