He and his broker repeatedly told me that I had “nothing to stand on” to recover my deposit and that it was all my fault for releasing contingencies, which was incredibly discouraging and overwhelming.<br><br>When my insurance application was declined due to the property’s high loss history - something I had not been aware of during my contingency period - it completely changed my understanding of the deal and the level of risk involved.<br><br>Once I attempted to cancel, the situation escalated quickly.
