I just completed a 3-month nutrition training with Carrie Blackwell and it was AMAZING! I learned so much, and she met me right where I was with making changes. I feel like I understand so much more about my nutritional health and I have made great lifestyle adjustments that will be sustainable. Highly recommend!

Reviewers frequently highlight the clinic's professional staff, noting clear communication, personalized exercise plans, and attentive manual therapy for issues like back pain and post-surgical recovery. However, lower-rated feedback points to specific administrative difficulties, including disputes over late fees, billing errors, and a perception that the practice refuses service for certain insurance plans. These operational concerns contrast with the generally positive descriptions of the clinical care and patient interactions.

I can't say enough good things about Keith at Essentials Physical Therapy! He is amazing. What really sets Keith apart is his hands-on approach. He doesn't just give you exercises. He's incredibly skilled at manual therapy and seems to know exactly where your body is holding tension and what needs to be released. He really listens, and you can tell he knows what he's doing. I was in a car accident almost 20 years ago, and after just a few visits with Keith, I have more mobility in my neck than I've had in years! It's honestly been amazing. He's personable, caring, and genuinely talented at what he does. I'm so thankful I found him and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone! You can trust that you're in the right place with Essential Physical Therapy.
Keith is no longer a certified Mckenzie trained pt. There is a reason they require ongoing training ninja order to use their credentials after your name (mdt). I presented with a sciatic list aka lumbar trunk shift. He dismissed me like every other doctor and pt I've tried the past 5 years. He injured my back during my first visit as did his 2 year degreed lane community college assistant. Having just discovered the Mckenzie method i wasn't fully aware of what should have occured during the first visit and each visit thereafter... I do now and immeasurable nothing close to whatever and his protoge did to me. After my second visit I could not ride my bike back home and had to call for a ride i was min so much pain. I was so pissed about how imwas treated and dismissed i didn't bother calling them to cancel my next appointment. Even though them office, anager told me they would never do it because of my insurance, they tried to charge my debit card $100 for missing an appointment I was in to much pain to attend, pain they directly caused. I was mis diagnosed as having structural scoliosis and tried to tell Keith that. He ignored me and treated me like I had scoliosis. And his assistant didn't have a clue as to what he was doing. It was frightening to think they could have easily paralyzed me given scoliosis treatment is opposite what Mckenzie teaches. Scoliosis is rarely treatable and your spine is fixed and does not move. Somwhen you apply standard scoliosis exercises and stretches it oes against what Mckenzie teaches whichmis a series of soft, light directional tests to see which direction your spine responds to without pain. Scoliosis exercises are forced and do not give preference to any directions that could be harmful to your spine. I am reporting Keithmtonthe state of Oregon Physical Therapist Licensure board and to the Mckenzie Institue for using their name as a non certified pt and for advertising. I would not even give 1 star but had no choice, I am also meeting with a couple attorneys about legal steps forward after my catastrophic visits with Essential. So if you essentially don't care if they injure you during therapy, call them up and book an appointment, you to might get brushed off, injured and tossed to a community College degree pt for your complicated condition. Don't say you were not warned.
Dear Michael. This is an unfair review. And I see from each of your other very negative reviews that it is quite consistent. We are an inclusive clinic, and do our best at Essential Physical Therapy to provide each patient with an individualized physical therapy program appropriate to their diagnosis and stage of recovery. We aim to be respectful with every patient and treat them with dignity. Because we deal with people in pain, sometimes, even with the best intensions, we aggravate symptoms. I'm sure sorry you had a poor experience at our office 5 months ago, and hope that in the meantime you've found some relief from your challenging situation. Finally, you took great pains to describe the McKenzie method that you just discovered. I too am a fan of the McKenzie approach. I received my diploma in this method (the highest level of training achievable in that system way back in 1995, and I have been practicing with this method ever since. This was, indeed, the system I applied to your initial examination.
Keith, Zack and Kay work together to help you have a wide range of exercises and communicate well about what they have added to your exercise plan. They are compassionate and listen to your concerns and provide options to address your concern.
My recovery from a total knee replacement has gone really smoothly with the expertise of Keith and Zach. This is a small, but amazing PT clinic. Everyone in the clinic knows who you are and they genuinely care about you. I will continue to go here for any PT needs that I have in the future as well.
Leith is a Great physical therapist that listens to you to discover what the cause of your issue is. Very nice staff.
Refused service because they can't be bothered to pick up the phone and ask my insurance or surgeons office if I'm covered for the therapy. Very clearly turning down Trillium OHP patients to avoid the hurdles. Even though they're contracted.
Hi Raymond. As I mentioned on our previous emails, the workflow we use to know whether a certain diagnosis will be reimbursed stated that your diagnosis did not qualify. I have no doubt that Trillium would verbally approve your therapy. Unfortunately, unless the ICD10 qualifier states that the diagnosis qualifies, then we have no recourse if they decide not to pay which has happened to us on many occasions. Our clinic has an excellent reputation in the community. It is important to us to provide care to all people, regardless of their ability to pay. And we do, indeed see Trillium OHP patients. You'd be surprised to know that well over 50% of or our caseload are Trillium patients. Again, sorry for your experience. And best of luck with your rehab.
Kieth and his team are extremely professional, compassionate and truly advocated for my well being, they were committed to helping me achieve wellness again. Keith and his assistant Zach took the time to assess my condition and explain in detail what the path to recovery looked like. From day one working with Zach was a very pleasant experience not only because he is extremely knowledgeable and understood my hesitation, he could explain movements thoroughly and walked me through the exercise routine with patience and grace. Essential Physical Therapy is a place you can trust to help you on your journey to recovery.
Thank you, Jose, for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that Kieth and Zach were able to support you on your path to recovery. Your well-being is our top priority, and we appreciate you trusting us with your care!
Very pleased with the quality of service and professionalism in regards to a leg/hip issue I'm dealing with. Highly recommended.
I would totally recommend Essential PT!! I had a very bad bulging disc, and they fixed me up with exercises that really helped, in just 3 sessions! And such a nice staff, from the receptionists to the PTs themselves. Thanks to all of them!!
