Google reviewers rate Fidelity Home Inspection highly, praising the company's punctuality, clear communication, and detailed reports that are easy to understand. Clients frequently note that inspectors take sufficient time to explain findings thoroughly, often utilizing drone technology and providing post-inspection follow-ups. However, a small number of negative reviews cite missed structural issues and describe aggressive follow-up tactics, including repeated calls and texts, after appointments were canceled.

Exceptional Professionalism, Thoroughness, and Outstanding Service!
I had a wonderful experience working with Jay Kendall of Fidelity Home Inspection, and I cannot say enough positive things about his professionalism, responsiveness, and dedication to his clients!
From the beginning, Jay was exceptionally well-spoken, knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating. He worked within our scheduling constraints, understood the importance of our timelines, and delivered an impressively detailed home inspection report in a remarkably short amount of time.
What impressed me most was the sheer volume of information he was able to gather, organize, and communicate so efficiently. His report covered everything from the home's structural components and roofing to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other important systems. The photographs and visual documentation were excellent, and the information was incredibly valuable in helping us better understand the property's condition and make informed decisions throughout the home-buying process.
If I were being exceptionally particular, my one tiny suggestion would be to include a little more specificity in the written descriptions identifying exactly where certain findings were located within the home. For long-distance buyers who may not know the property's layout, those additional details would make an already excellent report even easier to navigate. The photographs themselves were wonderful, and with a few FaceTime calls and videos, I was able to provide the additional context our buyers needed. This is truly a minor observation, and only something I mention because Jay's work was so impressive that I'm reaching for ways to make an outstanding experience even better!
Considering the speed, thoroughness, and tremendous amount of information Jay compiled in such a short timeframe, his work was nothing short of magical! He absolutely went above and beyond, and his efficiency and attention to detail were remarkable.
Beyond the inspection itself, Jay was an absolute pleasure to communicate with. He was articulate, respectful, patient, and professional, and I genuinely appreciated his willingness to accommodate our needs. What made the experience even more exceptional was the way he personally engaged with our buyers over the phone. He took the time to explain his findings in a clear, approachable, and easy-to-understand manner, making sure they felt informed and comfortable throughout the process. Our buyers absolutely loved him! His positive, can-do attitude, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm made a lasting impression.
I also want to recognize the gentleman who assisted us at Fidelity Home Inspection's front office, who was equally wonderful to work with! He was courteous, well-spoken, understanding, and accommodating throughout our interactions. His professionalism, fairness, and genuine willingness to help reflected the same integrity and commitment to customer service that we experienced with Jay. It is refreshing when both the field professionals and the office staff make you feel equally valued and well taken care of.
If you're searching for a "home inspector near me" in the San Antonio area, I wholeheartedly recommend Jay Kendall and Fidelity Home Inspection!
Jay combines technical knowledge, excellent communication, efficiency, and genuine customer care in a way that makes an otherwise stressful home-buying experience feel much more manageable.
Five stars without hesitation! Thank you, Jay, and the wonderful gentleman at Fidelity Home Inspection's front office, for your hard work, flexibility, kindness, and outstanding service. You truly made a difference in the home-buying experience!

Quick response and scheduling. They took a lot of time going over the house, was there 730-1230 and walked me through all the finding. Findings were super easy to share with the builder as well.
Highly recommend Jay Kendall – Fidelity Home Inspection (TREC #25155)
We hired Jay Kendall of Fidelity Home Inspection, and we couldn’t be more grateful. From start to finish, Jay was incredibly thorough. He clearly takes his time and doesn’t rush, and he pays attention to the very last detail. As buyers, that’s exactly what you want from an inspector. You’re making one of the biggest purchases of your life, and Jay made sure we had a full and honest picture of the home before moving forward.
What really set Jay apart was how easy he was to talk to. He never made us feel like our questions were silly. He explained everything in plain terms, walked us through what he found, and helped us understand what was a serious concern and what was minor or routine maintenance. He made a stressful process feel manageable, and we left feeling informed and confident instead of overwhelmed.
His attention to detail gave us real peace of mind. We felt like Jay was truly looking out for us, not just checking boxes. If you’re buying a home and want an inspector who is knowledgeable, approachable, and leaves no stone unturned, we highly recommend Jay Kendall and Fidelity Home Inspection.
My fiance and I decided to use Fidelity to perform a pre-drywall inspection on our new construction home in San Antonio. Fidelity assigned Jay Kendall to our home and he was very thorough. We are very pleased with the final report layout, it was easy to read and follow. The report was generated as soon as the inspection was completed. Jay Kendall kept in contact the whole time and was responsive to all subsequent questions.
We had a great third party inspection with Fidelity and with Jay, who was a home inspector near us. He was communicative, friendly, and most importantly very thorough with his inspection. This is our first home and Jay provided us with an amazing first time home owner inspection experience. My husband and I now feel more comfortable ensuring our home is ready for move-in. Thanks, Jay!
Edit: I am changing this to a 1 star review for the following reasons: I bought my house around 2 years ago and had Fidelity specifically Lane Ward as my inspector. He basically told me everything was fine and said if I posted a positive review with his name I would get some gift card which I remember it being painfully difficult to get. ANYWAY. My pipes are a brand called “Nibco” which is known to EVERY plumber that has ever come in my house to regularly leak around every 2-4 months. The inspector DID NOT disclose this to me and it would have been a TOTAL dealbreaker as I now have to repipe the house for around $15k-20k. Be careful who you chose as an inspector because if they do a crap job you’re SCREWED. Wouldn’t recommend this company if you’re buying a new house and if there’s a way for me to get legal recourse I’d take the opportunity immediately.
Response from the owner · a week ago
Tristan, I’m sorry you’re dealing with repeated leaks. That’s stressful and expensive, and I understand why you’re frustrated.
A home inspection is a visual inspection. The supply pipes in most San Antonio homes of this age run inside the walls and under attic insulation, where they can’t be seen without opening walls. We look for signs of active leaks, including with thermal imaging, and we recommend a licensed plumber whenever we find plumbing concerns.
One thing that may help you: NIBCO PEX plumbing used in many San Antonio homes built between about 2005 and 2012 was the subject of a class-action settlement that helped pay for leak repairs and repiping. It’s worth asking a lawyer whether your home qualifies.
I called you as soon as I read this and sent you a text. Please call me back. I’d like to help.
Michael Street, Owner, Fidelity Home Inspection
I recently had Michael Street from Fidelity Home Inspection perform a home inspection, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I reached out, his communication was excellent—he responded quickly, answered all my questions clearly, and kept me updated throughout the process.

His fast response time and professional approach made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Michael Street and Fidelity Home Inspection to anyone looking for a reliable, detail-oriented home inspector.
