I’m a person who always does 3 bids and then a buy. Painting our basement was no different. 5 Star Painting was competitive with the other painters and was professional. If you can ask for a painting crew, ask for Renan. He and his team were punctual, polite, explained everything, offered recommendations AND mopped up after themselves. And of course the painting job itself was perfect. Literally, don’t call anyone else.

They certainly deserved the 5 stars. The team did a fantastic job and were constantly checking in with us to make sure that everything was the way we wanted it. Our home turned out beautifully. When they finished Josh came out and verified everything was done. And he noticed a couple things missing that I didn’t realize. But he brought it up to me and told me his team would be back out the following day to take care of it. I highly recommend using 5 Star Painting for anything you may be doing.

We got our covered deck painted. I rarely post reviews, because I just don’t like basing my opinion off of a single interaction. I wanna start off my review with saying the job they did was excellent. Our deck looks amazing. And Steven walked us through what we needed to do to achieve the look we were going for. Up until we had an issue. The owners and our sales guy were really easy to work with. To be fair the week they painted our deck it was over 100° almost every single day. We were finalizing our pool project and trying to get our deck painted before our daughter’s engagement party that we had had planned. We were quoted a two day timeframe to paint our Deck. But with taking into consideration the heat, we understood it would take longer. Where this interaction went sideways was the fact that there was no communication. We were told the project would be finished on Tuesday then on Wednesday then on Thursday. Due to the size of our deck, there was plastic and prepping everywhere. Which was ultimately hindering our pool company from finishing their jobs. Had it only taken the two days that would’ve been fine. Had it only taken four days that would’ve been fine. However, Friday morning, when we were promised, somebody would be there first thing And that they’d be done and gone by 10:30. Our Painter didn’t show up until after 8:30. We were trying to reach out to the owners to come up with a plan of what to do, since they hadn’t shown up by 7:30. With five star, you need to understand their number is a call center number and you don’t get the actual office here in St. Charles. By the time I got the gentleman on the phone, I was mistaken about the timing and he basically called me a liar. From there only one of the two gentlemen for a two person job showed up that morning. And after the call, they sent one of the owners over. When all was said and done, the owners never reached out to ensure that everything was done properly. And have not followed up at all from the problem that occurred. We REALLY wanted to like this company, as we have an entire inside of a 5,000 sf home to be painted. But will not use them again because of how we were treated when there was an issue. From being called a liar, to a shouting match with my husband….we will not choose them again.

Jada, thank you for recognizing the quality of our work. We’re glad you love how the deck turned out and that Steven helped you achieve the look you wanted. We sincerely apologize for not communicating clearly and consistently as the schedule changed. The project was originally scheduled for an earlier date and was later moved at your request, which placed the work during a period of unusually extreme heat. The heat caused the coating to remain tacky longer than expected, and applying another coat before it had properly cured could have compromised the finish. While delaying the work was necessary to protect the quality of your deck, we should have done a much better job of keeping you informed. We would also like to respectfully clarify Friday morning’s events. Our published main number is answered by a call center, but every customer is provided direct contact information for our local office staff at the time of the estimate. No one on our team called you a liar, and we’re sorry our response to the timing discrepancy made you feel that way. When we spoke shortly before 9:00 a.m. Steven was already at the property. Although the conversation became heated, our team remained calm and focused on resolving the situation. After your husband requested that the protective materials be removed and the work completed by 10:30 a.m., one of our owners immediately went to the property and remained there through completion. The work and cleanup were finished by approximately 10:15 a.m. We understand that the repeated schedule changes, alongside your pool project and upcoming party on that Sunday, created a frustrating situation. Although we met the requested Friday deadline and an owner was present through completion, we should still have followed up afterward. We take responsibility for that communication failure and are using your feedback to improve how we update customers when weather affects a project. We appreciate the opportunity to have painted your deck and are pleased that you found the finished work excellent. —Five Star Painting of St. Charles

We hired Five Star Painting to refinish our kitchen cabinets and add some moldings. The entire team is fantastic to work with. They were very quick to respond and were very communicative throughout the entire process; from bid to completion of the project. They were able to get us into their schedule quickly and did a fantastic job on our cabinets. We loved working with them so much, I just asked them to bid on redoing our built in bookcases.
