I can’t recommend Matt Hentschel as an insurance agent. He doesn’t answer or return phone calls and will only communicate by email, which makes getting timely help nearly impossible. More importantly, my homeowners policy was rated incorrectly in several key areas: Roof was listed as a 2005 roof when it’s from 2023. Construction was rated as full masonry, but my second floor is wood frame. Roof straps were listed as double strap when my home has single straps. These are just naming a few..... These aren’t minor typos. Roof age, construction type, and roof-to-wall attachment are major rating factors, especially in Florida. Errors like these can give an insurer grounds to deny a claim, so if something had happened to my home, I could have been left without the coverage I was paying for. I only discovered the mistakes by reviewing the policy myself after crazy enough a drunk driver crashed into my house....... An agent’s job is to make sure your coverage is accurate and that you’re protected when you need it most. If you work with this agent, double-check every detail on your application and declarations page.
