My grandmother and I made pear galettes with Olivia Gray. My grandma was thoroughly entertained by conversation with her, and I was thoroughly entertained getting to learn a recipe without the hassle of buying all the ingredients and trying to figure it out alone. Even if mine weren't pretty, blaming my impatience…

We had my daughter's 6th birthday party at Flour Power yesterday, and it was a BLAST. Kilani was our lead instructor, and she was fabulous with my daughter and her friends. All of the staff were great. This was the most low maintenance party I've ever hosted... all we had to bring was some drinks for parents/kids to enjoy and goody bags for the kids to take home. Everything else was taken care of. The space is beautiful, and the party had a really special feel to it. Many parents said "what a great idea for a party." It was fun to have the focus on the cooking class. It really kept the kids occupied and was something different for many of them!
One tiny downside is the lack of space for non-chefs (parents). There's standing room only for parents, and I had to tell parents it was probably a good idea for only one parent to accompany each kid. It wasn't a huge deal, though, but it's something to consider if you have a lot of extended family that might want to be at the party or any older family members who need a chair.
It was a great experience overall, and I'd highly recommend it for a kid's birthday party. On the way home from her party, my daughter already asked if she can have her party there again next year!

Thank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful review! We’re thrilled your daughter’s 6th birthday was a blast and that Kilani and our team made the celebration feel special, fun, and easy for you. Hearing that she was already asking to return absolutely made our day!
We also truly appreciate your feedback about seating for parents. Our studio is designed primarily around giving the young chefs plenty of room to cook, but we understand that limited seating at times can be challenging for larger groups and extra family members. We’ll keep your comments in mind as we continue improving the guest experience. 🙂
It was a pleasure celebrating with your family, and we would love to welcome your daughter back for another party next year—or for a class, camp, or Kids Night Out before then!

I've been meaning to write this review for a while...My son attended a camp there during the summer. Some of the staff were extremely unprofessional. They humiliated my son in front of the other students and my son got upset. One staffer then took my son into the back office where she berated my child, even telling him that he wouldn't be allowed back, and "your mom won't be able to get a refund" - smiling while she said it. He was so upset that he went to the bathroom to call to be picked up, and told me that he didn't want to come out of the bathroom. This was on the first day there. Needless to say we did not return. The way that my child was treated was appalling and I cannot believe that people like that are allowed to be around children. As someone who has taught children in the past, I can't even imagine treating a child that way no matter the circumstance. At least they ended up refunding.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take any feedback involving children very seriously.
We have had one incident of this nature in our studio, which occurred approximately 16 months ago and remains isolated. In that instance, a camper became significantly disruptive to other campers during a culinary lesson, and when addressed, used inappropriate language toward staff. Our instructors responded professionally and appropriately, prioritizing a positive and respectful environment for all campers.
Due to the seriousness of the situation, the parent was contacted during camp to discuss what was occurring in real time. The child was picked up shortly thereafter. It was determined that the camp environment was not the right fit at that time in order to maintain a positive and respectful experience for all campers. A refund for the remaining days was issued.
Our instructors are trained to prioritize the emotional and physical safety of every child in our programs. We work hard to create an encouraging, structured, and respectful learning environment, and we are grateful for the many families who return to us year after year.
If any parent ever has concerns, we encourage direct phone communication so we can address them promptly and thoughtfully.
