Excellent part of the Timucuan Ecological & Historical Preserve. Been here a couple of times, most recently on a Sunday morning lat-ish December 2025. This is mostly the historical part of the preserve. Well preserved fort telling the story of early French involvement in Florida. The visitor center has tons of great informstion and excellent displays. Some good trails starting at the visitor center as well. Seemed like the locals fancy the place for walking. Small gift shop and a Junior Ranger specific to just Fort Caroline. Very pleasant in December.

Had a wonderful time. Started by looking around the visitor's center, then had a short walk down to the replica fort and native village, led by friendly and passionate Ranger Mia. Afterward, hiked nearby Spanish Pond trail to salt marsh viewing platform. Bring bug spray
