We adopted “Dean” and “Oreo”, now Duncan and Chloe, back in July. They are such delightful members of our family, and we are so grateful to FOSS for the opportunity to adopt these precious animals. We are very grateful to FOSS for allowing us to expand our family through their wonderful organization!
Absolutely Amazing
A wonderful facility. Clean, well-stocked, and a variety of spaces for the animals in their care to exercise and meet and great new potential owners. The staff is very friendly, their communication is timely and helpful, and it’s clear they do their best to provide a great environment for the animals in their care. We met our newest addition - a 7 month old male pup - last Wednesday and brought him home Tuesday (we had to travel over the weekend), and he has fit in better than we could hope for with our two other dogs. FOSS is about an hour from our home but we would not hesitate to travel their again if we had the ability to add more dogs to our modest-sized pack.
So glad they have a place like this in Stokes Co ! Please support them !

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Friends of the Stokes Shelter is truly one of the most caring and community-minded organizations around. While I wasn’t able to adopt from them (someone beat me to the sweet husky I had my heart set on!), I’ve had such positive experiences interacting with their team. Every staff member and volunteer I’ve met has been genuinely kind, compassionate, and clearly dedicated to the animals and their community. You can feel the love they have for every dog that comes through their doors. I also donated a memorial brick in honor of my husky, Shelby, and I was touched by how thoughtful and grateful the shelter was. Their outreach efforts and the joy they bring to both animals and adopters are truly inspiring. If you’re looking to adopt, volunteer, or simply support a wonderful cause, I can’t recommend Friends of the Stokes Shelter enough. They’re doing incredible work for the animals of our community! 🐾❤️

I’m not a pet guy but I support FOSS. The staff of this no kill shelter helps Stokes County. They are all very dedicated and are self supporting. If it is your passion, more power to you!
