We needed a couple of trees removed away from the house. Chris came out and walked the property and came up with some solutions and took pictures and marked the trees. Listened to any special requests we had about brush removal and where we wanted the logs stacked.

Chris did a great job. I had a difficult project to keep water away from my house foundation. He presented his plan and we met to discuss it. He respectfully listened to my concerns and he was willing to revise the plan. In the end we agreed with the strategy and moved forward with the project. Things are working great after multiple heavy rains this year. I am very satisfied. Will call Chris again if needed.

A week or so later Bailey and crew came out and introduced themselves and made sure the instructions they had were what we wanted. They busted their tails on a hot day and got it done in a couple hours. They asked if everything looked good before they left and even fluffed up the grass where they had driven equipment. Would highly recommend.

Very pleased with our entire experience with From the Ground Up. Crew was friendly, courteous and treated our property like it was their own. We had two large trees in our backyard and one was resting on our home from a recent storm. A crane was needed for removal and these guys did an outstanding job! Highly recommend them!

This company maintains the grounds at our apartment complex West Lake Meadows, but our section was left unmowed for over two months after sod was laid — grass grew more than a foot tall. You couldn’t even use this section without getting tripped up. Meanwhile, the rest of the property was serviced regularly. When they finally returned, they left piles of clippings across the lawn, didn’t edge around trees, buildings, or street signs, and left trash behind from the landscaping process.
It feels like they only focus on front-facing areas for curb appeal while neglecting others. We pay to live here like everyone else, and it’s frustrating to see such careless, inconsistent work. If you’re showing up weekly, the job should be done right.
Frankly, any landscaping company or property manager I’ve worked with in the past would be disappointed in this kind of work. It comes off as lazy and rushed, and I can’t imagine the owner would find this acceptable if they saw it firsthand.
Edit to add: I wish I could believe your response but it only takes 3ish weeks for sod to root not 2 months. Also, I unfortunately saw your crew blow the clippings from the sidewalk onto the freshly cut grass to let it sit, which in turn ended up killing a lot of the fresh grass/sod that was just laid down…I’ve added the photos from the property for reference. Wish our half of the property looked as decent (green, cut & weeded regularly) as the half that apparently does get taken care of.

Thanks for your feedback. The sod was intentionally left to grow longer to allow proper rooting, but we understand it affected usability and appearance. We’ve since addressed the area and bagged the clippings. We’re also working to ensure more consistent service across the entire property. Your concerns are noted and appreciated.
