Reviewers highlight the site's accurate 1930s farm recreation, including historic structures, livestock, and educational programs. Staff and volunteers are frequently described as friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in providing historical context. Accessibility is noted as adequate, though gravel areas may require assistance. One criticism involves inconsistent guidance regarding interactive exhibits, where different staff members provided conflicting instructions on how to use specific tools.

Knowledgeable staff, you can tell they don't just know about the farm but actually care about it. Animals are sweet and well taken care of. Premises is accessible for those with accessibility issues, with a little help in the gravel areas. Great view into the history of the area. And the Molasses cookies are amazing!
Grandkids loved it. Repeat trip planned. Repeat trip accomplished. Friendly and helpful staff. Hungry chickens, shy sheep and indifferent cows.
Wonderful recreation of 1930s farmstead, cool educational activities, and extremely kind and helpful staff and volunteers!
We had a mixed experience during our visits. The first time, Reg was wonderful. He kindly showed us how to grind corn for the chickens using the silver container on the table. The second visit was very different. We mentioned to another staff member what Reg had shown us, and he directed us to use the white container instead. That container held seeds. When the staff member noticed, he came over and said (quite rudely), “Well, I guess you don’t really know what you’re doing.” My daughter is autistic, and his tone made us both feel as though we were stupid. After we left, she asked me why he treated her like that. It turned out he wanted us to use a different container that was behind us, which we simply hadn’t seen. We cleaned up after ourselves with no issues, and there was no provocation for his rudeness. It’s a real shame, because the activity itself is lovely, but this interaction left us feeling unwelcome.
Hi Beth. We were very sorry to learn about your experience with us. We would like to reach out to you to discuss directly to learn more and to be sure this does not happen again. Can you please email us at [email protected] and let us know what the best way is to contact you? Thank you.
