Best place to get healthy food for my pets, my 18 yr old cat now has the zoomies, and my 14 Shiba in has the healthiest coat. They have helped me tremendously. I thought i was losing my cat but know he is back and acting like a kitten. They are very knowledgeable and can help you with anything.

I am formally documenting serious concerns about the care my two sugar gliders received during their two-week stay. I relied on your assurances that your staff was experienced with exotic animals. The cage was dirty at drop-off, and I began cleaning it myself. When I returned, it was filthy and extremely smelly, with flies around food that had remained there for two weeks. The water setup I supplied had also been replaced. At home, my little girl would not eat or leave her pouch. I discovered serious tail damage and took her to a veterinarian. She was found to be malnourished and may require tail amputation. I immediately notified Nick and asked you to call me. I have received neither an explanation nor a return call. I will report these conditions to the appropriate licensing and inspection authorities and request an investigation. My babies depended on the care you promised. Now I am terrified my little girl could lose her tail—or even her life. I expect you to contact me directly. Her suffering should not be met with silence.
Moya, we are concerned to hear about your sugar glider’s condition and understand how upsetting this is. We take these allegations seriously, but several statements differ from our account of their stay. You brought your own wheel and all cage accessories and personally installed them, including zip-tying the wheel to the back wall. The cage itself was the only enclosure equipment supplied by our store. You also removed your accessories at pickup. Our staff followed your written feeding instructions and changed the food and water daily. Food was not left in the cage for two weeks. Fruit can attract fruit flies even when it is replaced daily; their presence does not establish that food was left unchanged. While we followed the diet you provided, we cannot confirm that it was nutritionally complete and balanced for sugar gliders and would welcome your veterinarian’s assessment. At your request, we washed and dried the sleeping pouches and hung the replacement set in the same locations. I personally washed the pouches at home in my washer and dryer; they were not simply sprayed with cologne. Staff did not physically handle your gliders, but observed them out and active around closing time and did not observe any injuries during their stay. As you previously explained, you discovered the tail concern six days after leaving our store. These observations cannot establish when or how the injury occurred. Please email us the veterinary paperwork, including the examination findings, nutritional assessment, and any findings regarding the possible cause and timing of the tail injury. We want to review the documentation carefully and address your concerns directly.
I left my chinchilla here for animal boarding for 38 days and they were so sweet with her and took such great care of her! The pricing was nice ($10 a night, will definitely be leaving her here in the future!) I got a detailed update of her behavior on pickup, which was nice because I knew she was getting the attention she deserves! When I picked her up, I got a free little tour around and got to meet the pets who Victor knew so much about! Ontop of that, there's so many products here that I just don't see anywhere else! I live in Philly but will be coming back! Thank you Garden State Pet Center!

Super friendly and accommodating local small business! Nick is particularly helpful & knowledgeable with any questions you may have about pet care or products. Very diverse food options, especially for cats. If you live in Oaklyn or the Audubon area, it’s a much shorter commute than going to a big chain pet store. Side note; if you’re a dog lover, you’re in for a real treat! You’ll likely meet the resident dogs, Capone and Atlas :)

Had an emergency situation on Sunday where I had to board my bird because it was not safe inside my house temporarily. I called garden State on Monday and they worked with me and were able to get my conure boarded right away. They have been excellent with my anxiety avoiding my bird for the first time since I was brought my bird home. I was able to visit everyday. If I had a question I could call. Any questions I had were answered right away and I was reassured 100%. Highly recommend them for all of their services. I also have been bringing my bird there for 3 years to get groomed. They do an amazing job grooming and my bird doesn't seem super stressed going there. They also have quality dog items for dogs with various allergies. My guys allergic to chicken and I can barely find him chews and Bones without chicken as he also cannot have beef product. This place had several options. Highly recommend this store
