Glazed Cellar Doors by Confident Home Remodelers

Had a Bilco door that needed replacement. Using ChatGPT, identified a number of contractors but ultimately decided that Glazed Cellar Doors was the perfect choice. Eric was very helpful in talking thru the process including his unique glazing process. All the work was completed same day and we couldn’t be happier. Would definitely recommend Eric for any cellar door replacement.

Eric and Josie did outstanding work replacing our basement door and interior stairs. Knowledgeable, professional, clean, meticulous attention to detail are accurate descriptions. Great communication skills which are important considering the work depends on the weather. The doors performed perfectly through several thunderstorms.

Eric and his team did an excellent installing a brand new cellar door to replace an existing wooden cellar door. His pricing was reasonable, super professional and he was easy to work with. I would highly recommend him. Him and his team also did an excellent job on cleaning up after work. Thanks Eric for my amazing new cellar door.

Great experience with Glazed Cellar Doors. We came into this with a fully rotted cellar door that needed a complete replacement, and the difference is night and day. Pricing was fair and communication was great throughout the whole process — always easy to reach and clear about timelines and next steps. The finished product looks great too. Most importantly, it solved the problem: we went from a cellar that was letting in a lot of water to now only minimal water getting through with major storms. Huge improvement and worth every dollar. Would definitely recommend them if you’re dealing with a leaky cellar door in need of replacement.

I had an old Bilko type basement door that needed replacement. Eric, Joseph, and team came out and did the job in one day. Their work ethic was exceptional. They went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend.

I had a 75-year-old Bilko door that was in need of replacement. I found Glazed Cellar Doors online and was impressed by their website and the fact that they specialized in cellar doors. Eric responded quickly to my inquiry and spent some time going over my situation and explaining my options. His quote broke everything down and was very fair. The job was started before the date I was given and completed in a day. They ran into a problem with a rotted header and quickly came up with a fix that secured the door. I always prefer to do jobs myself but his was far beyond my abilities. I can say it was done with an attention to details and with the same care that I would have given the job, Thank You Eric

If you need a bulkhead (basement) door replaced, hire Eric. It's that simple. He replaced a fifty-plus year-old door for me and I'm very happy with it. It's worth noting that I'm leaving this review about nine months after our installation so I've had ample opportunity to see how it would shed water when it rains. I also should mention that were two issues right after installation. The first was that the locking mechanism was "stuck." I contacted Eric who assured me that this was not an uncommon problem. He was at my house the next day to correct it and there has been no issue since. The second was a bit of water getting in the first time it rained. This was obviously very concerning. Again I reached out to Eric. He could not have been more responsive; he actually seemed bothered by this and was resolute that he'd get it figured out as quickly as possible. He came right over and re-did some of the cement work near the bottom of the door where the water may have been pooling a bit. There has been no issue since. Eric is thoroughly professional, takes great pride in his work, and is very responsive should there be an issue. He also saved me a lot of money over other estimates I had gotten. I recommend him highly.

Would defiantly recommend Eric, I needed a Bilco door replaced and found Eric. He did an amazing job replacing the door.

I had an old Gordon RD-1 cellar door that was in really bad shape when I bought the house: rusted out and installed over rotted wood. Eric from Glazed Cellar Door came out and walked me through all my options, from custom doors to a like-for-like replacement. He never pressured me or tried to upsell, just gave me clear, honest advice, came out and measured everything out as part of the quote, and worked with me on the price. What really stood out was the attention to detail; he even worked to match the door color to my foundation paint and customized the paint color to fit in better. The installation went smoothly, with the new door set directly into the cement for a solid, long-lasting fit. It’s been about a month now, and we’ve had several rounds of heavy thunderstorms roll through. The door still looks great, and for the first time ever my cellar stairs have stayed completely dry during heavy rain. That never happened with the old door. I couldn’t be happier with the result. Professional, high-quality work, and a door that both looks great and does its job perfectly. Highly recommend Eric and Glazed Cellar Doors.

We’re in the middle of redoing the exterior of our 80+ year-old home and inherited a leaking, rotting “custom” cellar door from the previous owner. Finding a replacement seemed impossible — several contractors came out and either couldn’t help or weren’t interested. Then we found Eric and Glazed Cellar Doors. From our first meeting, Eric was confident they could handle it, and his price was more than fair. Installation went smoothly, the craftsmanship is excellent, and the new door looks fantastic. I even gave it the ultimate test with a garden hose — where water used to cascade down the stairs, now not a single drop got through. If you’ve got a tricky setup or just want the true experts in cellar doors, Eric and his team are the ones to call. Highly recommended.
