I highly recommend the Goddard House to anyone considering assisted living. The management and staff went above and beyond to care for my dad. They are competent, professional, and highly caring. It became clear that the business model was beside the point — everyone, including Lance and the rest of the team, was focused on authentically caring for people, being respectful and empathetic, and upholding others' dignity in what can be a difficult time of life. I am very grateful for them.

Thank you for this excellent review, Daniel! Lance, along with our entire team, works hard to create personable relationships with all of our residents and families so that we can provide support when any hardships come their way. Hearing that you felt so welcome at our community makes us so happy. We were honored to take care of your dad for the several years he lived with us here at Goddard House, and can't thank you enough for the trust, faith and true partnership you offered us as we cared for him.
My husband has been living in Assisted Living at Goddard House for 6 months and our whole family couldn't be more delighted with the care and attention he receives!
The staff are compassionate, always willing to accommodate suggestions, knowledgable and caring.
We appreciate the welcoming front desk, the menu options in the dining room, the many entertaining and engaging daily programs, the curated nightly movies, the joyful professional musical performances 3x's a week and the relief in knowing that medicine delivery and daily living assistance are provided with respect.
Goddard House is well-run, providing the experiences we were seeking for continuing a meaningful life.

Lucy, thank you for your kind and thoughtful review! Your husband has been such a wonderful addition to the Goddard House family, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have him here in the community.
We're so grateful that you recognized our incredible, hardworking associates. They are the backbone of our community, and we wouldn't be here without them! We are so glad that you chose us for your loved one's care.
You're right-- there is always a fun and engaging program happening here. We know how important it is for residents to have the highest possible quality of care in an enriching, home-like environment, while continuing to do what they love! And our residents are the reason we do what we do. Thank you so much for your heartfelt words, and we can't wait to see your husband continue to flourish here.
I can't say enough about this incredible assisted living facility. My dad has been a resident here for five months, and from day one, he was embraced and folded into a warm, vibrant, engaged, intelligent community. I visit him for meals at Goddard House two or three times every week and each time I am so impressed with the level of professionalism, skill, warmth, and conscientiousness of all the staff. The facility is warm and inviting and offers daily, excellent live music concerts and movies. Residents are seen and heard and known and celebrated in so many creative ways. As is the staff. Goddard has one of the lowest staff turnover rates in the area because they really value and support them.

As for our staff, thank you for highlighting their talent and dedication! We're lucky to have such an incredible group of associates. The bonds between residents and associates here at Goddard are special, and we love celebrating our residents and sharing their stories each day! Thank you to you and your loved ones for being a part of the Goddard House family.
The Dementia Training hosted by Goddard House was excellent! This was a great opportunity for our staff to learn more about dementia and caring for our dementia clients.

Thank you so much for your kind review! Our Dementia Friendly trainings are such a great opportunity to connect with Greater Boston area organizations who share our values and are committed to the highest possible quality of life for individuals with Alzheimer's and related dementias. We are so glad you found it valuable!

Hello Ellijah, We have read your review and do believe there is some confusion. First, we do not currently have nor has there been a history of anyone working at the Goddard House by the name Ellijah. Second, Senior Living Residences (which manages this Community) was just named by the Boston Globe as #1 on their Top Places to Work list. Third, the Executive Director, News, is highly rated by associates in annual Satisfaction Surveys. Additionally, to our knowledge, there have not been any residents who chose to leave the community for any reason related to any associate. As such, we believe this review to be inaccurate. It seems that the writer has an "axe to grind", so has decided to disparage our leadership team and the Community.
My mother recently passed away and I cannot wrap up her affairs without acknowledging the great care and support she received at the Goddard House. She lived both in a one bedroom "traditional" apt. and then in the Memory Care unit. Due to her dementia my Mom could be, at times, quite challenging to deal with. Staff charged with her care were always patient, caring and respectful. Also, the Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director of Goddard were always very helpful and responsive to any questions/issues encountered. I feel fortunate that I was able to find this special "home" for my Mom during the last few years of her life.

Cheryl, we are so honored that you chose us for your Mom's care and have taken the time to write this heartfelt review. It was so lovely to have your Mom here with us, and thank you for recognizing the compassionate care our incredible staff provides. We know that the transition to Memory Support can be overwhelming, and we couldn't be more grateful for the trust you put in our team throughout the time your Mom lived in the community. Our hearts are with you and your family during this time, and we wish you all the best.
My mother has been living at Goddard House for almost 14 years: five years in the traditional wing, and nine years in the memory care wing, Olmsted. The staff at Goddard House are my second family, and they are all wonderful with my mother. It's very hard to place a loved one in an assisted living facility, but do not hesitate to consider this gem! The main reason why my mother is doing so well, and has thrived in a memory care wing, is because of the kind, loving, creative, and dedicated staff. Goddard House has exquisite programming, with many arts, music, and gardening activities. My mother is fully engaged throughout the day, and even goes on outings to the Arnold Arboretum and the Museum of Fine Arts!

We understanding how overwhelming the transition to assisted living can be, and it means so much to have you and your Mom as part of the Goddard House family. Thank you for recognizing our talented and hardworking staff-- it brings us so much joy to see residents express their creativity and love for the arts, and we couldn't do it without our staff! Thank you so much for trusting us with your Mom's care, and it has been an honor to see her thrive here.
I'm very appreciative of the kind and patient support provided to my mother during the 4 years she was at Goddard. She was able to maintain a degree of independence that she could not have achieved elsewhere. I am grateful.

Marty, thank you so much for sharing this, and it was our honor to have your mother at our community. Thank you for putting your trust in us.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video with me. The best part of video was seeing familiar faces and hearing the residents stating how much they loved the community and how wonderful the staff are. Goddard House is truly a wonderful community filled with so much love and empathy and endless opportunities for the residents.

Your heartfelt words mean so much to us, Sheryl! It brings us so much joy to see how our video has resonated with you. Resident quality of life is at the heart of what we do, so thank you for recognizing the wonderful residents and staff that make up our community!
I can't say enough about this wonderful place and all the fantastic staff. My Mother (and I) were so nervous and worried about this move, but in the end it couldn't have been a smoother transition for both of us! ALL of the staff are so helpful and friendly. My Mother is happy and enjoying the activities; from exercise class to the afternoon trivia and tea with a chat to the guest speakers. It is a pleasure to visit her, but surprisingly she now has limited time for me, because she does not want to miss some of the events! I never would have believed it. If you are thinking about this place for your parent/s I'd be happy to discuss our positive experience.

Dear Jennifer, Thank you so much for this wonderful review of Goddard House. We believe your mother is flourishing here. She adds a wonderful energy to any group or discussion she enters. When we greet her, she is quick to point out how much she has enjoyed speaking several of the languages she knows with our international group of caring associates. Thank you for entrusting her to this warm, welcoming community we call Goddard House.
