We have received great service from Goodin Lawncare for over five years. They take care of of planting at the entrance of our building, people walking by always comment on how beautiful our building looks!

We had to terminate our agreement with Goodin because they didn’t deliver on maintaining our yard. It was like this and getting progressively worse for 6-8 weeks before we terminated services. Aside from one mulch application and two trimmings in five months, they would only come and mow weekly, but we would generally have to email and request any other services. As you can see, the yard in many spots is dead and overrun with brown patch, grubs and weeds. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. It’s also like this in large portions of our yard by the garage. They were supposed to provide full service, including turf health and maintenance. We were paying over $1900/month for this service, charged $95 minimum for any service call, and were charged for repairs on top of this. Nathan admitted the yard looked terrible, but then sent us a bill for over $4600 that included charges for $2500 for early termination fees. Beware that they may try to get you in to a contract, not deliver and then try to charge you for services never delivered or ineffectively delivered. To pay a company over $25k/year and get this service is not acceptable.
Edit: In response to Goodin’s comments, they handled our irrigation, and as highlighted, we were with him previously and thus they had all of the opportunity necessary to dial in irrigation and other factors given they managed our full yard maintenance outside of fall/winter the previous year. They equate action - whether or not effective - as sufficient. Given they were handling all of our chemical application, irrigation, and yard maintenance, these issues should have been addressed by them. Part of the charges included a monthly manager visit to check on and identify issues with our yard. The services that were supposedly delivered and we are being charged for were not effective. In one month away from Goodin, we have already seen dramatic improvements in our yard. I can add additional photos of the insect damage to our hydrangeas and trees that should have never been allowed to be as out of control under the scope of services and charges.

We had worked together previously, and after choosing another provider, you later asked to return to Goodin Lawncare and expressed appreciation for the quality, professionalism, responsiveness, and ownership our team had demonstrated. We were happy to welcome you back.
We recognize there were areas of the property this summer that were not where either of us wanted them to be. There were several contributing factors, including irrigation conditions and significant disease pressure. When you raised your concerns, we acknowledged them and offered to meet, develop an action plan, and work through them. You chose instead to end service.
We do want to clarify one important point in your review. The additional amount due upon early termination was not a penalty or a charge for services that were never delivered. It reflected services that had already been performed under the terms of our agreement, and we have service records documenting that work.
There is more history and context here than is appropriate to address in a public review. We respect your decision to move in another direction, and we stand behind our team, our service records, and the work performed at your property.
The backflow preventer for our irrigation system was leaking in several places. I called Goodin Lawncare on Friday to schedule repair or replacement. Felipe arrived first thing Monday morning, and started work immediately. He explained what he needed to do, and kept me informed during the entire process. He came prepared with the correct replacement parts and everything needed for the job. When finished, he ran the irrigation system to make sure everything was working properly. I could not be more pleased. On time, excellent workmanship, correct materials!
