Grand View Alzheimer's Special Care Center

We began our journey at Grand View as a respite stay. We are now participating in their day program. We have found both of these stays to be a beneficial experience for our family. We feel confident that our loved one is being well cared for and supervised during his time there. The facility is clean and the staff is always helpful.

I have been looking for family members who are wanting to be together in memory care. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. I got to meet a couple residents too. Matt gave me the tour and answered all of my questions (usually before I got a chance to ask!) or concerns including visiting time, staffing and care questions. Of the assisted living-type memory care units, this has rocketed to the top of my list. Prices are clear and reasonable, being towards the lower end of memory care facilities I have toured so far. I am impressed with their approach to care with understanding of how dementia needs can be multifaceted. My family also loved the cookies chef made especially for them.

Matt provided an excellent tour of the center and shared helpful, insightful information. I now feel confident recommending this facility to anyone who may need care in the future.

Grand View is truly one of a kind. As a standalone memory care community, everything they do is intentionally designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. From engaging daily activities that support cognitive and physical well-being to meaningful opportunities for social connection, you can feel the difference the moment you walk through the doors. The environment is warm, structured, and centered around dignity and purpose. It’s clear that this is not just a place to live, it’s a place where residents are truly supported and cared for in every way.

This is one of many places we have experienced in central Illinois for my dad. It has far exceeded any other experience. The people really seem to know him and help him with daily life. He looks more like himself again and seems genuinely happy. Because of the help with daily activities and healthy habits we can focus more on spending time with him when we visit. The moment I did my walk through to see if this was the place for my mom, I knew this was it. Calli was very pleasant, understanding, and she answered all my questions. I feel a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders knowing my mom will be in a place that will take good care of her.

Avoid this facility as a provider for your loved ones. As detailed from an inside source supplies are limited. Staff lacks proper bedside manner. Being rough with patients to the point that patients seek the support of newer staff to intervene. Lack of activities leave patients in an unstructured environment. Staff use foul language to the point that residents address the behavior. The culture is wildly immature in that they mock visitors and residents. Please reconsider placing loved ones in at this facility.

My husband has been at Grandview for 20 months now. The facility provides a setting that feels homelike with a culture of caring and family like relationships with residents and staff. The facility is clean, the food varied, the schedule predictable with daily activities, meals, snacks snd quiet time with lots of. Big windows and natural light. It feels more firm-like than nursing home. . The caregiving staff truly cares for residents making them comfortable emotionally and physically. Communication about care is consistent and helpful. Our family feels supported in this decision for our loved one.

Calie and the team worked to make this transition easy for us. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and caring and very involved with the residents. I would definitely recommend Grand View to families looking for Alzheimer care for their loved ones.
