Great Roofing

Thank you to Great Roofing on our recent replacement. After a nearly two year battle between another roofing company and our homeowners insurance provider, in a matter of weeks Christina and her team were able to get a full replacement approved. The selection and installation process was easy and very well explained. The installation process was excellent and on time. I would highly recommend this team to anyone with roof repair or replacement needs.

After this summer’s crazy storms and the plethora of “roofing experts” that seemed to show up out of nowhere, it made me happy that Great Roofing installed the roof on my home last year. I never once experienced the high pressure sales tactics that I witnessed by companies scouring my subdivision after storms. I reached out to Joseph Lopez last summer while he was working with a neighbor about his roof. He simply gave me his card and said to call him if he could be of help. I know now that this was a great decision, they made this process go smoothly from start to finish. I can’t say enough about Joseph and his team!

My dad’s home had a problem in his water in his basement. We were told to start with a roofer. Great Roofing came highly recommended. I was told to contact Joseph Lopez. First of all, I was impressed that the phone was picked up. I understand that roofers are busy, but Joseph took my call right away and committed to coming out to inspect the roof. He wanted to come out himself. Said he’d go in the attic, check the roof, check the gutters, check the chimney, and he scheduled an appointment right away. I was impressed that they offered a free inspection. An appointment was scheduled, but it rained and was too unsafe for inspection. Then it rained again. Finally, when the rain cleared, Joseph arranged to make sure that I had an inspection. It turns out the roof was not the problem. If you’re looking for honesty, please consider Great Roofing. I would have no way of knowing whether or not it was the roof. They could have stretched the truth and taken us for a repair that wasn’t needed, but they did not.

The teams were excellent, starting with first contact Chris. He was easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable. The next in home meeting was equally fantastic, so accommodating and explained all thoroughly. Then we have a crew that show up, they were really great, met all expectations throughout the whole process.

Very unprofessional communication. John sounded annoyed and was condescending and patronizing when I asked questions about the contract via email and asked for a few line items on the contract to be more specific. Ultimately, my wife and I still decided to proceed without any revisions to the contract being made, but he informed us that he did not want us as a customer anymore because "he could not meet our expectations." If that's the kind of hostile attitude you have with a potential customer over some innocent questions, we're happy to move on and take our business elsewhere anyway.

I find it hard to believe this company has 4.9 stars. The kids running this outfit do nothing but blow smoke up your ass. Have been back and forth to my house for almost a month now…never finishing or fixing their damage. Gutters were supposed to be saved and remounted, their guys, ripped them down with a pitchfork, scraping 80% of the facia around, and just left it. They installed wrong color drip guard, and kept acting like they knew nothing about it. When finally agreeing to replace all the damaged materials…the guys show up, do half the work, leave, and don’t return till I call asking why. Worst experience with any contractor ever. Guess they’re used to dealing with people that don’t know any better. Get your work inspected after they finish, all you good rating people are missing it.

My Dad has water in his basement. We suspected either roof or chimney. I was referred to Great Roofing by local Plainfield Moms Facebook page. That’s how I became aquatinted with Joseph Lopez at Great Roofing. They offered free inspection. Between my schedule and heavy rains Joseph ended up sending out one of his guys. Rhett Buwalda came to my Dads house and gave a thorough inspection by starting in basement, getting on top of roof and inspected attic too. Rhett did a great job explaining what he saw and what he suspects to be the problem. He even took pictures. Rhett was able to help point us in the right direction as it appears the issue is not roof or chimney. We are grateful for Rhett’s guidance and highly recommend Great Roofing, and consider yourself in great hands when you work with Rhett or Joseph!

Rhett was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. Friendly, honest and not pushy, which we really appreciated. Individual recommended one shingle or another and knew about some legal cases associated with the non-recommended shingles, class action lawsuits which I was able to verify with a quick search. Rhett was also experienced and focused on safety, traversing the roof, ladder safety and was cautious and communicated any risk to people below to ensure no one was injured. I would recommend Great Roofing, especially if u are interacting with the guy Rhett we had. Quick and pleasant experience
