In looking for something for my wife and I to do under “events”..I stumbled across GHCC. It was easy to buy the very affordable tickets on line and reviews were positive so we decided to give it a go. In arriving about 8:30 we were the first there and were warmly greeted by owner Brian. Didn’t take long to figure out we were going to be the only “retired age” couple attending…but that just makes it more fun. GHCC is a cannabis shop by day (didn’t quite realize that) and the venue is small holding only about 25 people for “the show”. The young host (Ramy?) did a great job and was clever and funny in his own right usually making himself the subject of his humor. About 8 comics did a circa 10 minute routine and they were all good although perhaps not on the fast track to their own show in Vegas. But presumably they were all there for the fun and enjoyment of doing some standup (ie not making a fortune in appearance fees) so am more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as they do their best. Show and jokes are at least PG13 but all in good fun and everyone did a good job of avoiding insults and/or “divisive” theme lines. Bottom line : give it a go, but be aware that the venue is really a cannabis store. Good luck to owner Brian as his pursues his ventures.
