Habitar Design

We had two bathrooms remodeled simultaneously. The entire staff from design, project management, skilled/professional workers, and admin staff were quite exceptional. We love the completed projects and they’re exactly what we envisioned. I would highly recommend Habitar Designs if you want a stellar outcome for any remodeling project!

• Design style: Modern

We hired Habitar Design to remodel two small bathrooms in our 1890s Victorian home—our primary ensuite and a downstairs powder room—and we could not be happier with the results. They truly transformed an old, unused area into a highly refined primary ensuite that has completely changed how we use our home. The space was incredibly tight, but their team optimized every single square foot to make it both stunningly beautiful and highly functional. What really sets Habitar Design apart is their crew. Every single person who stepped into our house arrived on time every day, worked with utmost professionalism, and treated our historic home with a level of respect that did not go unnoticed. A few specific shoutouts to the incredible team: Mitch & Kanya: They were a pleasure to work with during the initial scoping phase, guiding us seamlessly through the project design and helping us navigate the inevitable add-ons that come with a historic remodel. Sebastian: Our project manager was fantastic. He kept us constantly updated on the project's status and presented incredibly clear, stress-free solutions whenever small surprises popped up with our 130-plus-year-old plumbing. Sarah: Her tile work is absolutely amazing. She was meticulous in her execution and gave us invaluable guidance on our tile patterns and grout selections that tied the whole look together. Jose: He made quick work of the demo and framing, and his attention to detail is unmatched. In fact, we had him come back a month later to install a delayed towel rack, and he instantly remembered the exact placement of the pipes inside the walls, guiding us on a slight adjustment to avoid any mounting issues. If you are looking for a design-build team that delivers flawless craftsmanship, respects your home, and navigates old-house challenges with ease, hire Habitar Design.

Habitar/Stratagem Construction has just completed a bathroom remodel for my condo in the West Loop. This is the second project they have completed for me, with the first being a kitchen remodel. I have nothing but high praise for the design and construction teams and am extremely pleased with the quality of the work. The project consisted of gutting the entire bathroom and removing the tub and putting in a shower. First, the design process went very smoothly and options provided to me kept in mind what my budget was. The contract was laid out clearly and construction began soon after signing. The construction team lead Sinuhe was outstanding and the Project Manager Sebastian along with Project Coordinator Jen kept me informed throughout the process. The construction team was extremely considerate and the quality of the work was outstanding. I was also impressed with the vanity and linen storage cabinets that they built for me. Overall a great team who completed the project on time and in budget. I would highly recommend them and if I decide to do more remodeling will definitely use them again.

This is the second time we've worked with Habitar - which I think speaks volumes by itself - and have been very happy with both the process and the result. Our designer was exceptional - she listened and understood what we wanted to achieve in our main living area that included the kitchen and hallway. We were able to see a clear visual model of what the changes would look like together. Communication was clear and she worked fast, guiding us through the detailed decisions we needed to make and options she recommended. In particular, she designed built-in cabinets with pull-out bookshelf drawers for an awkward space in the living area. It has significantly increased our storage space and added an interesting feature to the living area without overwhelming the space. I appreciated her attention to detail in even small details we hadn't thought of, which really made the space come together beautifully. ***pictures coming soon***

I recently used Habitat for my kitchen project and had a great experience from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. I was out of town during much of the project, and they kept me updated with phone calls, texts, and progress pictures, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. The finished kitchen turned out beautifully, and the team left my home very clean when everything was done. I’m really happy with the outcome and would absolutely use them again for future bathroom projects.

Habitar was great start to finish! They were very easy to communicate with and very organized. They helped me convert my guest room/office into a beautiful useable space.

Professional, respectful, experienced, knowledgeable, listens to your ideas and enhances each vision, prompt responses, on budget.

Habitar designed a new kitchen and two baths for our family. It was a big project, significant investment, and enormous success! It's hard to believe the transformation of each space, which was in various states of disrepair from severe to total. We worked within the existing footprint and made complete replacement of every element. The end result is functional and beautiful. I have a lot of strong, but also partially formed opinions on aesthetics and the designer helped me improve and realize them in a wonderful, collaborative relationship. We are so grateful for our new old home. I doubt many companies can handle the challenges that such an old structure (1880) brings with it so well. Every room as it was unmasked presented unwelcome surprises, such as 'remedial' plumbing, rot, etc, but Habitar and their sister company anticipated these and fixed each as they arose. The crew were so hardworking, professional, and friendly. Truly the best!

You is the professionnel

We recently worked with Habitar and its sister construction company on a renovation of our primary bedroom, bathroom and closet, adding washer/dryer. From the initial conversation with Mitch to the design with Brandy, and then the demo & construction, we had a great experience. Communication was regular and transparent, and when some hiccups arose, we were presented with options and the work didn't move forward until we approved. This was a first big reno for us, and we will not hesitate to use Habitar again on future projects. Mitch and his entire team were fabulous and we have already referred them to three friends.
